Many people know within the events industry that I love pickleball. It seems to come up in every conversation. So much so, that I travel and play in pro tournaments throughout the US. Yes, it’s fun. I am able to meet some great people and go to much warmer places than Chicago. Best of all it’s super competitive and I get to physically and mentally put it all out on the line at each match and tournament. Why is this relevant to work? What I have seen is the change in the way I approach work. The high level of competitiveness of tournaments, drilling and practicing has also fueled my drive in my work work within sales, customer relationships and new ideas to solve problems. I’m in the best shape I’ve been in physically in the past 20 years and even better shape with my mind at work. Things seem to be clearer than they were before. What does this all mean? I believe this continues to show how important a work/life balance really is, for all of us. How are you refueling your mind and body to excel at your life and work? When you are working non stop, how are you figuring out how to balance yourself in order to be at the top of your game?
