LGBTQ+ Pride Month, held during the month of June, celebrates and commemorates the struggle towards progress and equality sparked from the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, a significant tipping point in the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. The upcoming, virtual WBENC Women & Pride Community Social Hour will provide a safe space to connect with like-minded peers, foster relationships, and combat feelings of isolation while celebrating all LGBTQ+ identities. Bring your favorite women-owned beverage and come prepared to engage in authentic conversations meant to advance and amplify the LBGTQ+ business community. We invite all women business owners and corporate professionals who identify as LGBTQ+ to attend the Women & Pride Social Hour! This session is open to all; LGBTQ+ allies are welcome to attend. Women & Pride is an outreach and development program designed to support and strengthen the community of LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs and corporate professionals within the WBENC network and beyond. 🌈 It’s June! LGBTQ+ Pride Month. It's also “𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙗𝙤𝙬 𝙘𝙖𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙢” month for many. Support takes more. Some thoughts and 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 below on how to support the LGBTQ+ community all year long❗ (https://lnkd.in/grqaEjuF) It’s about more. All year long. Although genuine and tangible support and allyship are needed and appreciated, a brief change to a rainbow logo doesn’t cut it. It is even more important with all the discourse and legislation lately, to show respect for diversity, and tangible and genuine support to the LGBTQ+ community. Building and maintaining a culture where people feel valued, respected, and supported for who they are and how they show up shouldn’t just be a business focus for 30 days a year. 💡 Here are some 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 to help you support LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace: ✔️https://lnkd.in/evvGnccf ✔️https://lnkd.in/ex6Wgk5c ✔️https://lnkd.in/e2ph58EJ ✔️https://lnkd.in/eZrusqkN ✔️https://lnkd.in/eCc4EvR3 ✔️https://lnkd.in/e6a5xrrx 🚧 Creating a workplace culture of inclusivity and acceptance is something companies need to focus on 𝗔𝗟𝗟 year long. Creating and maintaining a workplace culture where people (both employees and customers) feel safe is a non-stop effort. 🕺🏼 Happy, Pride! How are you personally supporting the LGBTQ+ community❓ What actions is your business taking 𝗔𝗟𝗟 year long to support the LGBTQ+ community❓ #lgbtq #lgbtbusiness #diversity #deia #inclusiveworkplace #pride2024 #workplace #culture #business #leadership #gender #keepitreal

As February marks LGBTQ+ History Month, we wanted to show our support and share some resources for anyone who wants to better their knowledge and understanding of just what LGBTQ+ History Month marks. 🌈 The 2024 theme for LGBTQ+ History Month celebrates the contribution LGBTQ+ people have made to medicine and healthcare, historically and today. The following links share the stories of some LGBTQ+ people who made significant contributions in their field. https://lnkd.in/ebaJc_JS https://lnkd.in/eM7x_MAX While there have been vast leaps forward for LGBTQ+ equality, this has not always been the case. Whilst a lot has changed since the Stonewall Riots of 1969, did you know that civil partnerships were made legal 20 years ago, and same sex marriages were only made legal 10 years ago! This reminds us that while progress has been made, work must continue to ensure an inclusive future and supportive environment for all. Recognising and acknowledging LGBTQ+ History month is a key step to ensuring an inclusive environment, something we are passionate about doing in not only in our organisation, but all of those we work with. By better educating ourselves about the struggles of others, we can promote empathy, inclusivity and break down stereotypes not only at work, but in our everyday lives. If you are interested, please take some time to review the resources below from Stonewall: https://lnkd.in/dG2Qw7g https://lnkd.in/dThgGmn6 #lgbtqhistorymonth #diversityandinclusion #equalityforall

Today is National Coming Out Day, a day dedicated to celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. - It is a day to honor and recognize the courage and strength of individuals who have come out as LGBTQ+ and to show solidarity with those who are still on their journey. - Coming out is a deeply personal and often challenging process, as individuals face the fear of rejection, discrimination, and prejudice. - It is important to create a safe and inclusive environment where people feel comfortable being their authentic selves, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. - On this day, let's challenge bias and stereotypes, and promote acceptance and understanding. - Let's educate ourselves and others about the experiences and struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community, and work towards creating a more inclusive society. - Remember that coming out is a continuous process, and support should be ongoing, not just on this day. - Today, let's celebrate the diversity within the LGBTQ+ community and reaffirm our commitment to equality and inclusion for all. #NationalComingOutDay #LGBTQ+ #InclusionMatters
