Intern programs should create positive candidate experience - yes, interns are potential candidates for future regular full-time roles. So many potential positives... - a great option for companies to develop a pipeline for early career talent. - a unique chance for leaders to learn and grow with these Interns. - opportunity for an Intern to gain experience, using many of their learned skills. - and so many more Several weeks ago, an individual in our Electronic Arts Intern program (https://lnkd.in/gb7tz3Yk) asked for 30 minutes of my time. At first, his partial smile, a black buttoned-up EA logo shirt, and his terrific posture conveyed excitement and a touch of nervous, perhaps at meeting someone with 20+ years industry experience. As we talked, and grew more comfortable, he flashed a smile and personality that would light up a room. He shared learning and insights that allowed me to think bigger. He shared an enthusiasm for the company and his role, reminding me many of the great things we all could be sharing about why we do what we do. Best 30 minutes I've spent in quite a while. Below is a similar Intern story. I love this so much... #candidateexperience #intern #internprogram #professionalgrowth #professionaldevelopment

WonderMind.com I ABSOLUTELY SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH CRYPTOCURRENCY. I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY THE INFANT DEMOCRATIC-CAPITALISTIC MINDS OF TODAY BLAME THE USA GOVERNMENT. THAT SAID THEN IS ANY GOVERNMENT TO BE BLAMED FOR THE HOMELESS PROBLEMS PLAGUING THE WORLD.?... NO. GOD KNOWS ALL THE HEADACHES USA GOVERNMENT HAVE WITH THE FOREIGN AFFAIRS. THE NEW WORLD IS PRACTICALLY A SHOCK TO WITNESS. PEOPLE "ONLY WORKING" TOGETHER FOR A COMMON GOAL... "IN THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS." THUS DOESN'T THAT ALSO INCLUDE THE HOMELESS. THE HOMELESS ARE OUT THERE... ARE YOU.? HOMELESS A OPPORTUNITY MISUNDERSTOOD..... The modern economic system is a market economy, which is a capitalist economy where people, not the government--NOT THE GOVERNMENT--own most businesses. In a capitalist economy, prices allocate capital and labor between competing uses, and capital assets like factories, mines, and railroads can be privately owned and controlled. https://lnkd.in/eB98Jnv9 GOOGLE. EXAMPLE, IF YOU NEED TO RAISE MONEY FOR ANY REASON OR MORE SO LETS SAY THE "HOMELESS" PROBLEM WHICH IS BELIEVED TO BE TIME & MONEY CONSUMING BUT IN ONE DIRECTION TOWARD THE HOMELESS. HOWEVER CRYPTOCURRENCY CAN POSSIBLE ALLOWS AN EXPENDITURE OF CURRENCY TO BENEFIT ALL WHO USES THE CRYPTO & REGARDLESS OF HOW IT'S CONSUMED. Happy Friday to all our employer partners, including FDJ Solutions who not only provide learners like Laura Shaw skills, experiences and networks to thrive, they provide #paidinternships. TWC is working hard toward our goal of 100% paid internships, with more than 70% of current placements providing compensation. It's not just a nice to have, it's essential to achieving a high-performing career, and expanding the pool of diverse #earlycareertalent. Don't take our word for it... according to the results of the National Association of Colleges and Employers 2022 Student Survey, paid interns earned a median starting salary of $62,500 compared to unpaid interns who reported earning a median starting salary of $42,500.
I am excited to share that this summer, I am working in Washington D.C. as an Academic Intern for The Washington Center. Additionally, I am grateful to announce that I have formally accepted a position as a Government Relations Intern with FDJ Solutions. Looking forward to gaining valuable experience and contributing to impactful projects in our nation's capital!

All Recreational Therapists that have earned the credentials Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) have been interns before. Entry into the Recreational Therapy field needs to be reformed so students do not have to pay tuition to complete an internship away from their university campus. The National Council on Therapeutic Recreational Certification (NCTRC) should place the needs of incoming professionals above any university’s or employer’s financial motives. See how ludicrous this appears: pay $10,000.00+ for tuition to not go to the college you just overpaid in order to work ~600 non-paid hours somewhere else, then pay $450.00 for a chance to enter the field. Our soon-to-be graduates should be boosted into professionalism, rather than having to dig themselves into a deep financial hole, or into mental exhaustion, just to get there. The excuse, “We all had to do it” is bogus. … Ironic how Recreational Therapy is supposed to be a field that cares deeply about mental health and wellness, but Recreational Therapy academia and professional organizations do not apply ethical codes of nonmaleficence to students or interns. It’s important as professionals to be cognizant of the circumstances of interns - All the more reason to give our interns the best possible learning experiences. Interns should be compensated by the host for the contributions made by the intern. This year, Indiana home and community-based Recreational Therapy providers formed a task force to help Indiana Medicaid determine new reimbursement rates (compensation). Only one of the providers mentioned the costs associated with hosting interns and the need for interns to be compensated - Necessary for growing our workforce in order to reduce service disparities. If you are an intern, or will soon be an intern, please stand up for yourself. Choose internship hosts that advocate for you as an intern from the beginning - Do not choose to intern for organizations that simply use your free labor as a cheap recruitment tool to funnel you into employment or contracting just to grow their organization. A big red flag is if an internship host waits until the conclusion of your internship to present a job offer - Interns prefer to know where and what their professional role will be in advance! Hold the organization you are interning with accountable. Please help improve your internship organization with your latest and greatest educations! You are the future! I have a deep desire for the entire Recreational Therapy internship system to improve! If interested in an internship with Assisted Independence, LLC, please visit our website here: https://lnkd.in/eHP_hkHn Would love to hear more about anyone’s internship experiences anywhere.
Happy National Intern Day! Special thanks to Tess Meyer, Alexa Weber, and Miranda Seguin.
