The construction industry is facing a challenging pivot towards sustainable practices and lower CO2 emissions. By enabling timber construction, load-bearing adhesives already contribute to sustainability of building structures. Thanks to our work with Covestro, we are able to supply two of our best-selling polyurethane adhesives now being manufactured using alternative raw materials using the mass balance approach! What makes us different? We've been thinking a lot about this question lately, as we try to pick out what it is that separates us from everyone else in such a competitive market. Whilst we're looking forward to exploring this in more depth over the coming months, we wanted highlight the top 5 points our team came up with. #1 📈 Our culture of innovation, which is integral to everything we do. In a time where more and more manufacturing is moving overseas, every single one of our products is built in the UK. In fact, every step of the process happens within Gloucestershire. #4 ⚙️ Everything we make is built to last. We know our customers rely on our products day in and day out, so we don't mess around when it comes to quality. We also design our products to require minimal maintenance, including using sealed bearings and self-tensioning carbon belts on our Gyru-Star buckets. #5 👩🏻🔧 Although the worlds of manufacturing and engineering may still be male dominated, we're proud to say Wheatway Solutions is ahead of the curve, with our board of directors being comprised of 60% women. We've got some big news to share from our friends over at KLAW Industries...🏗️🚧 KLAW Industries, which re-purposes contaminated glass and transforms it into a core component of concrete, was awarded a $21.2 million project with the NYS Department of Transportation. They'll be working to replace a bridge in the company's hometown of #Binghamton. KLAW Industries was the overall winner of our 2022 #HeartlandChallenge, taking home more than $100,000 in prize money. That funding has helped KLAW expand its workforce and scale production of its material, Pantheon. 🏆💰 Founded in 2019 after touring recycling facilities and seeing firsthand the problems with post-consumer glass, KLAW Industries is on a mission to create material solutions for the concrete and recycling industries. Cement is the active component in concrete and accounts for 8% of carbon emissions globally. KLAW Industries processes glass from landfills into a powdered cement replacement, dubbed Pantheon, which can replace up to 30% of cement in concrete while making concrete stronger, more chemically resistant, and environmentally friendly. #SustainableTechnology #InnovativeSolutions #StartupSuccess
