Today, I had the opportunity to attend a session by Rajeev Raja where he talked about Sonic Design in Advertising. It was incredibly engaging and informative. He introduced us to audio branding in the most beautiful way possible. I immensely enjoyed and loved the session. Here are some key takeaways I'd like to share: 1. There is a commonality in music that resonates with a mass audience. 2. The sonic design process includes Brand Discovery, Sonic Mapping, and creating a Sonic Identity System. 3. It's important for your brand to know where your consumers hear you from (Podcast, TV, Social Media). 4. In music, there is a scale called the Pentatonic Scale, which is imprinted in human minds. It's so intuitive that anyone can sing it, regardless of their musical ability. Check out this clip of Bobby McFerrin to see it in action.
