It is quite important for organisations to differentiate between the roles of governance body vs senior leadership to maintain high quality of outcome. The governing body responsibilities lies on active engagement in oversight, determine and secure the necessary resources, where the senior leadership is responsible for directing day-to-day operations and activities.

Quality is vital to the success of an organization but most importantly to the safety of our patients/communities. Hence, the reason for why the governing board is delegated such high authority. It’s so crucial to ensure board members are well versed with the standards, know the vision/ values of an organization and align the initiates with those values. Lastly, that there is plenty of time allocated to discuss and analyze quality reports. What are your thoughts?
