The flag of the United States, often referred to as the “Stars and Stripes, “ is rich with symbolism and meaning. ✨The stars: There are 50 white stars, each representing one of the 50 states within the United States. The stars are arranged in nine rows of alternating five and six stars. ⑊The strips: There are 13 stripes on the flag, with seven red stripes and six white stripes. The stripes represent the original 13 colonies that declared independence from Great Britain and became the first states of the United States. 🇺🇸The colors: red symbolizes valor and bravery, white signifies purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance, and justice The flag embodies our country’s values, history, and aspirations. It stands for freedom, democracy, and the collective identity of the American people. It’s a powerful symbol of national pride and unity, recognized worldwide. This Flag Day, take a moment to reflect on the sacrifice, traditions, and values that our flag represents. Let’s come together as one nation. #OneNation #HappyFlagDay #StarsAndStripes #RedWhiteAndBlue

🇺🇸 Honoring the Stars and Stripes: A Time-Honored Tradition Ever wondered how the American flag is folded correctly? This sacred practice is steeped in tradition and respect. Follow these steps to ensure that Old Glory is treated with the utmost care: Step 1: Hold the flag waist-high with a partner, parallel to the ground. Step 2: Fold the lower half of the stripes over the stars, securing the edges. Step 3: Fold it lengthwise again, with the blue field on the outside. Step 4: Create a triangle by folding the striped corner over the open edge. Step 5: Turn the outer point inward to form a second triangle. Step 6: Continue folding in this triangular manner. Step 7: When done, only the blue field with stars should be visible. This folding method, akin to the tri-cornered hats worn during the War for Independence, is reserved solely for the U.S. Flag. 🇺🇸 We are offering 20% off our flags through the end of the year, so get your home or business new stars and stripes before our sale ends! Did you know?..."The first daytime parade in New Orleans took place in 1872, and as the Russian Grand Duke Alexis Romanoff was visiting at the time, it was decided to use the Romanoff family colours of purple, green and gold as the official colors of the Carnival. Purple stands for justice; gold for power; and green for faith." Learn more about the history of #MardiGras at https://lnkd.in/eeGgK3QK

I have not clinically died, nor have I been run over by a snowplow, but this guy has! I encourage you all to watch until the end, because the message is not "everyone needs to run super fast/far" nor is the message "you need to push yourself to the absolute limit". Brooks has taken the stance that everyone has that moment where you no longer are the best, or the top, or as good as you'd like to be, AND THATS OK, as long as you're taking the next step towards wherever you want to get to, that's a win. I recently took my annual Physical Fitness Test for the Marines, one of two tests every Marine is required to complete (and pass) annually. I was (and still am) very disappointed with my performance but after feeling sorry for myself for a few hours (yes hours), I reminded myself that I could do something about it, and set to building my plan to achieve my goal score next time. What are your goals, do you have a plan to get there? #resilience #goals #Marines #planning

Happy Flag Day! In honor of Old Glory, we thought we'd share some facts about the American flag: 1. According to popular legend, Betsy Ross sewed the first American flag in 1776 after a design was presented to her by George Washington, Robert Morris, and George Ross. However, there is no historical evidence to fully support this story. 2. The first recognized Flag Day was celebrated in 1885 in Fredonia, Wisconsin, when schoolteacher Bernard J. Cigrand held ceremonies for his students to honor the flag. 3. The American flag is traditionally folded in a specific manner into a triangular shape, symbolizing the tricorne hats worn by Colonial soldiers during the Revolutionary War. 4. The world's tallest flagpole flying an American flag is located at Acuity Insurance in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. It stands 400 feet tall and flies a flag that measures 60 by 120 feet (we've never included Wisconsin so much in a post). And there you have it! Always a good thing to take a peek at the past so you can observe how it shapes your present! https://elpaviation.com/ #aviation #aviationsoftware #donthateautomate #ELP #innovatorsneverimmitators #programmersforaviators #airlines #happyflagday #oldglory #americanflag #betsyross #flagday #fredonia #wisconsin #flagfacts #patriotism #history #triangularfold #acuityinsurance #sheboygan #usflag #celebratehistory
