Eating disorder recovery can be a lifelong process—which is why our team is dedicated to providing our clients with the tools they need to succeed long after treatment ends. Even after clients complete our program, we continue to offer support, resources, and lifelong connections to empower them on their journey. Our alumni and recovery program helps build a healthy support system, provides activities to enhance life skills, and offers the opportunity to add on additional sessions and participate in group offerings for as long as necessary. Adults tend to have more agency over their healthcare than their kids: they make their own appointments, choose their providers, and decide when to go in for treatment. But this self-determination can sometimes backfire: adults might not have someone encouraging them to seek help, and can often put off treatment due to the mounting stress that comes with adulthood. These reasons and more are why many adults with eating disorders can actually face MORE barriers to treatment than adolescents. 👱🏽♀️Stigma around eating disorders being an “adolescent” illness 👨👩👧👦Responsibilities and stress from raising a family 🥬Diet culture influences normalizing disordered behaviors 💼Work demands and a fear of professional repercussions Virtual care can help alleviate many of these deterrents as it can help adults weave treatment into their everyday life: between meetings, in the school parking lot, or privately from a home office. Importantly, it also allows them to directly practice new habits and behaviors in their everyday environment. Treatment should be able to fit into the life of a mom, dad, professional, student, etc, instead of having to fit these life roles around treatment. PAM Behavioral Health of Conroe is now providing a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for those 18 years of age and older. Our PHP was designed so participants can easily access therapy, medication management, or even visit with a healthcare provider all in one place. Since you're not required to stay overnight while enrolled in a PHP, it allows participants to receive treatment while providing flexiblity to go to work or attend school. Inpatient programs are more restrictive and limit outside activities. #WeAreHealthCare #Hospitalweek, #MentalHealthAwareness, #MentalHealthMatters, #YouAreNotAlone, #Anxiety, #Mentalillness, #SelfcareMatters, #GuildingYourVoyagesToWellness, #PAMVoyagesBehavioralHealthOfConroe.

When you’re searching for eating disorder treatment, the options can feel overwhelming—just the acronyms alone (IOP, PHP, FBT?) are dizzying. Often, the first decision you need to make is whether to choose inpatient or outpatient eating disorder treatment. In most cases, outpatient is the right choice, but what exactly does that entail? In this in-depth guide to outpatient eating disorder treatment, we take a closer look. https://lnkd.in/gBdfaQnx

With the holiday season upon us, we will be sharing some helpful tips to keep your holiday season happy! Setting boundaries is a crucial part of decreasing stress during the holidays. Here are some helpful tips to consider: 1. Know your limits! You do not have to attend every party, or spend more money than budgeted, or have a drink because someone offers it. 2. Be assertive! Practice verbally setting your boundaries with a trusted friend or the mirror. Practice saying "no" firmly, but respectfully. 3. Be willing to compromise, when appropriate. 4. Listen to your emotions. It's okay to take breaks when you need them. 5. Make sure to respect the boundaries of others! If you feel that you are having trouble setting boundaries. Call our facility at 803-796-9911 for assessment and to learn more about our outpatient programs! Our Therapists would be happy to help set boundaries holiday season!

Award-Winning Marketing & Communications Specialist 💚 Caring Content Strategist to Teams Changing Lives
Anxiety and communications in primary care: 📈 In any given week in England, 6 in 100 people will be diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) 📈 Around 8m people in the UK have some form of anxiety 📈 1 in 3 employees in the UK suffer from moderate to severe depression or severe anxiety. How many patients are affected by anxiety in your GP practice right now? How many more might have it but haven't sought support or treatment? I was surprised as we dug into the stats at a multi-site practice last week to find just how much anxiety was impacting patient experience and perhaps understanding of patient comms there. This poster from the Home Office is one of a series aimed at how to design for accessibility (there's a link to the rest in the comments). Explaining what happens next, making important information front and centre in our comms and being clear about what to expect are simple tips we should all be building into our patient communications as standard but especially so for people living with anxiety 🫶 #primarycare #patientcommunication #accessibilitymatters #primarycarecomms

Overview Online Trainings are coming up!
These two trainings are coming up - register ASAP if you plan to attend! I'm passionate about teaching clinicians, counselors, and care workers principles of social justice as they pertain to the diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders. Even if you work in a field unrelated to eating disorders, they are common enough that you've definitely seen patients impacted by them, whether you recognized it or not. This overview training is designed to help you shift your awareness of eating disorders from the common narratives rooted in systems of oppression in order to provide better care for your patients and clients. Learn more and sign up at https://lnkd.in/gYBuAwWK [ID: Text graphic advertising upcoming training. The background is maroon, with a dark maroon vertical strip taking up the left third of the image.
