🌟 This Race Equality Week, we're embracing a powerful theme: Listen, Act, Change. 🌈 It's more than just a week; it's a call to action for all of us to play our part in creating a fairer, more inclusive world. This is a time to listen to the stories that matter, to take action in our communities, and to be the change we wish to see. 🌍 👂 Listen - This week, let’s open our ears and our hearts to listen to the experiences and voices of people from diverse backgrounds. Every story, every voice, is a step towards understanding. 🏃♂️ Act- But listening is just the start. We're encouraged to take action, no matter how small, to promote equality and challenge racism. From educating ourselves and others to standing up against injustice, every action counts. 🔄 Change - Together, we can create change. By listening and acting, we contribute to a culture of respect, understanding, and equality. It's about building a community where everyone belongs and is valued. Race Equality Week is our moment to come together and reflect on how we can contribute to a society that respects and values diversity. It's about making a commitment to listen, act, and change not just for a week, but every day. Let's use our voices, our actions, and our power to make a difference. Share your thoughts, your commitments to change, or how you're taking action with the hashtag #ListenActChange. Together, we can build a brighter, more inclusive future for everyone. 💖 Join the movement. Be the change. 🚀 #RaceEqualityWeek #ListenActChange #CelebrateDiversity #YouthForChange #REW2024

Did you know that it’s Race Equality Week? This annual UK-wide movement is all about uniting hundreds of thousands of organisations and individuals to address the barriers to race equality in the workplace. This event enables your organisation the following: ✅LISTEN to the needs of your people and what challenges they face ✅ACT - collaborate with colleagues on your internal race networks and understand what actions need to be put in place. ✅CHANGE - when you take action, you inspire others to do the same. Organisations can get involved for free, by implementing their activities and/or utilising our two new solutions, the 5-Day Challenge and #ItsNotMicro. This Race Equality Week, we've embraced the theme of #ListenActChange. We've listened to our colleagues, acted on their feedback, and implemented positive changes. But change starts with each of us. That's today we invited our colleagues to make a commitment to action through the Big Promise. Some of the things that colleagues have promised from across the firm include: * Calling out racism and microaggression when they encounter it. * Expand and diversity their network with people from other backgrounds. * Learn and proactively act anti-racist. * Offer ideas and suggestions for how we can improve within the firm. As well as a range of meaningful commitments from senior leaders within the firm. We invite WM colleagues who have taken part so share their promises below - if they wish. As Race Equality Week draws to a close, we're reminded that our journey towards inclusivity doesn't end here. We're committed to striving for a more inclusive firm every single day of the year. #ListenActChange #RaceEqualityWeek #TheBigPromise #WalkerMorris #forgeYourOwnPath LINK:

Workplace Inclusion Architect | Guiding HR Leaders to build a more inclusive workplace they can be proud of
Here are 5 reasons why celebrating Pride improves your work culture: 1. It lets your employees know that no matter who they love or how they identify, they are accepted. 2. It gives you an opportunity to engage with the LGBTQIA+ community and gain insight and understanding of their lived experiences to create a fairer workplace and society. 3. It demonstrates your organisation's commitment to equality by intentionally educating employees about the lived experiences that the LGBTQIA+ community faces. 4. It normalises difference and inclusion as part of your culture, and role-models your organisation's forward-thinking behaviour within your industry. It also unites people through fun activities, delivering a serious message through enjoyable experiences. 5. It gives your LGBTQIA+ customers confidence that you are an inclusive business where they want to spend their well earned Pink Pound (estimated to be £6 billion in the UK). Every year Mildon supports a variety of organisations with their Pride activities, through: - Workshops - Webinars - Keynote speaking So, how are you going to celebrate Pride 2024? 🏳️🌈 Email hello@mildon.co.uk to book your activity, but hurry as my diary is filling up fast! #Pride #PrideMonth #Pride2024

The premise of the 5 Day Challenge is simple: take 5 minutes a day, over 5 days, to self-reflect and commit to action to drive greater race equality. It’s something we can all find time to do – and that’s the beauty of it. For organisations, the 5-Day Challenge provides a flexible, ready-made solution that’s more than just a gesture. Up until now, many companies relied on a ‘nudge approach’, which changes cultures slowly. The 5 Day Challenge gives companies the opportunity to reflect, and allows Race Equality Week to become a catalyst for change. Find out more by following The Collaboratory. https://lnkd.in/e8riyUc2 #TheCollaboratory #PeopleMatter #RaceEquality.

This! Empathy+ Experience= Understanding Simeon Quarrie understands this truth. And so does his company Vivida What worked for Lucy Edwards works for us all. Including organisations. 👟 To deepen mutual understanding, smash bias and stop discrimination, you need to walk in some one else's shoes. Just ask the guys at Vivida Here's what you don't need: 😴 Dull D&I initiatives (yawn) ☠ Death by power point (groan) ❓ Endless questionnaires ( please!) 😱 Cursed gamified personality assessments (The horror! the horror!)
CEO | Award Winning International Speaker | Creative Entrepreneur of the Year | Experiential Learning
And just like that, they walked in her shoes! 💜 Lucy Edwards, who lost her sight as a teen, crafted a wedding day unlike any other. She invited her husband-to-be and guests to walk "In Her Shoes." Her captivating journey emphasises the power of love, empathy, and acceptance - something we wholeheartedly celebrate during this National Inclusion Week. Her unconventional walk down the aisle reminds us to embrace our uniqueness. The VIVIDA team and I are dedicated to championing diversity, equity, and inclusion through empathy. Lucy's story perfectly mirrors our "In Their Shoes" initiative, which encourages a deeper understanding of others through empathy. And Just like Lucy, we invite you to walk a mile in someone else's shoes.
