Now that holiday shopping is in full swing, I've been doing more online shopping than usual and I've noticed that some websites are easier to use than others - drastically easier. I prefer an online experience that doesn't make me work hard to give someone my hard-earned money. I think the same philosophy of keeping it simple should translate to the donation page on a church website. If you haven't reviewed your church's donation page in a while, check out this post on Businessingmag.com to see if there is room for improvement at your church. https://lnkd.in/gZgW2jkS #churchleadership #donations

Tip Tuesday: Celebrate What God is Doing! 🎉 Sometimes our church congregations don’t fully buy into the mission and goals of the church, especially as it relates to their finances, simply because they aren’t aware of all the good that God is doing in and through the church. Regularly celebrating wins fosters a culture of gratitude and helps people feel excited about how their donations are being put to good use. 🌟 Action Step: Share updates during services, in newsletters, and on social media about the amazing work your church is accomplishing. The winter holiday season is officially upon us! 🎄 🕎 🕯 As we deck our halls and cue up the holiday tunes, it's a perfect time to connect with supporters and ensure we properly honor them for their generosity. 💌 I often catch myself singing a classic winter tune with new lyrics: "One L, one L. There's one L in Michele. There's two L's in Walls, but one L in Michele..." It's silly, but it makes an important point - spelling names correctly matters! 😉 When donors entrust us with a gift, whether it's Jack or Jacques, Kathy or Cathy, McElhenny or McIlhenny, we owe it to them to get those spellings right every time. So, as the donation letters and year-end appeal responses roll in, be extra diligent in verifying and properly recording new names or changes to existing records. 📝 And if you're unsure of a spelling, you can use it as a chance to personally connect. 🤝 Place a quick call to say thanks and check if Carol has an E or not. Not only will you get the right name, but you will also brighten someone's day with that personal touch. 😊 Getting a name right is such a simple gesture, but it relays genuine attention and appreciation for that donor's unique identity and support. 👍 This season, as the holiday tunes play on, let's make honoring donors' generosity from A(bby) to Z(oe) a priority and an effort that will keep giving all year long. ❤️ #fundraising #annualgiving #philanthropy #nonprofit #development

Incorporating real-life stories and testimonials on your donation page isn't just about showcasing the impact of contributions, it's about sharing the blessings God bestows through your church's ministry. These powerful narratives serve as a window into the lives touched by your congregation's generosity. They allow church members to see how their gifts directly translate into tangible support for those in need, fostering a deeper connection to the mission and its Christ-centered purpose. Consider incorporating stories that: -Highlight answered prayers: Showcase how contributions helped answer someone's prayers, showcasing God's presence in their time of need. -Demonstrate transformed lives: Share stories of individuals whose lives were positively impacted by your outreach programs, funded by the church family's generosity. -Express heartfelt gratitude: Include testimonials from those who directly benefited from the contributions, showcasing their appreciation and reinforcing the impact of giving. In the last 12 months, 74% of evangelicals gave money to a church and 58% contributed to some other type of nonprofit organization. But who controls the wallet when making that financial decision? In evangelical households where at least some decisions are made jointly, usually one adult is more likely to make the actual donations. In this study, we researched how couples give, where couples give, and who has the final say in that decision-making process. What percentage of the couples agree on how much to give and to which organizations? Also, of unmarried evangelicals, who is more likely to give—unmarried men or women? These findings—and more—are shared in the report. Download it here! https://lnkd.in/eBbH2pnh
