These efforts have uplifted 72k+ beneficiaries, aiding them to embark on a journey to break the vicious cycle of poverty and to embrace opportunities. SDG 2: Zero Hunger - Our loans, with a purpose to bolster agri and agri-allied sectors, have reached 40k+ beneficiaries. This translates to a stronger local food ecosystem with an investment amount of INR 272 Cr. SDG 5: Gender Equality - Supporting underserved women with entrepreneurial instincts, we've granted loans that resonates with our commitment to achieve gender equality. INR 261 Cr. of funding has translated into empowering 67k+ women, fostering an environment where their aspirations thrive. SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – Our financial services have supported development of new enterprises and flourishment of existing enterprises. With an investment of INR 499 Cr., 72k+ individuals have gained access to dignified work and opportunities for economic growth. SDG 10: Reduced Inequality - Our loans are directed to support our core value of diminishing inequality be it based on income, gender, opportunities and more. 'भारतीय नारी सब पर भारी' 👷♀️ 👩✈️ 👮♀ 💂♀️ 👩💼 👩🔧 👩🍳 👩🌾 👩🏫 👩🎓 👩⚕️ Women Empowerment is like helping women grow and be a part of important decisions. Here are some programs in India that are all about making women stronger and more independent. Game Changing Govt Women Empowerment Schemes In India 1. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (प्रधानमंत्री उज्ज्वला योजना) Central Government initiated this scheme on May 1, 2016, and aims to provide free cooking gas connections to poor families. This helps both rural and urban Below Poverty Line (BPL) families so that they can benefit from it. 2. Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme (सुकन्या समृद्धी योजना) In 2015, the government introduced the Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme. The purpose of this program is to give the female kid financial support so they can follow their ambitions and pursue their education. Women who are mothers of girls are eligible for this program. 3. Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (प्रधान मंत्री मातृत्व वंदना योजना) The purpose of this program is to give moms and other pregnant and nursing women financial support so they can prioritize their own and their children's health. Under the plan, women who are expecting or nursing can receive up to Rs 6000 in cash help. 4. Women Entrepreneurship Fund Scheme It was created in 2020 by the government of India. The Women Entrepreneurship Fund Scheme can be helpful for female entrepreneurs who want to launch a firm but lack the necessary capital. 5. Mahila Shakti Kendras (महिला शक्ति केंद्र) Women Empowerment scheme called Mahila Shakti Kendras started in 2017 to help women by providing things like healthcare, good education, advice, and job opportunities. It aims to make these opportunities available in different areas across the country, like blocks and districts. 6. Nari Shakti Puraskar (नारी शक्ति सम्मान) Women Empowerment scheme called Nari Shakti Puraskar started in 2016 intending to make women stronger in our society. It aims to support organizations that help women progress and develop in different aspects of life. 7. One Stop Centre Scheme (वन स्टॉप सेंटर योजना) Women Empowerment Scheme, known as the One-Stop Centre Scheme, was launched in 2015 to help women facing violence, whether it happens at home or in public. This program aims to assist women in reporting incidents by helping them file First Information Reports (FIR/NCR) and provides emotional support through counseling services. 8. This Women’s Day, I had to share this tale where Chetna Gala Sinha recounts how the rural, non-literate women of India inspired her to set up a bank. 💼 The unbanked: The journey begins with Kantabai. She wanted to save her hard-earned money but was denied by the banks because the amount was too small. 💰 Financial inclusion: When Chetna decided to establish a bank to help Kantabai and women like her, her application was rejected as the primary customers were all non-literate. ✍️ Empowerment through collaboration: The women decided to learn how to read and write so that Chetna could accomplish what she set out to do. 💪 From struggles to strength: Banking in a rural area comes with its own challenges. From long distances and limitations of PINs to even a water crisis during a drought, Mann Deshi Bank had to resolve many obstacles. 💡 Innovative solutions: Early on, Chetna learned that one should “never provide poor solutions to poor people. They are smart.” This pushed her to make a difference in the world. These stories show how resilience and determination can conquer any challenge. In a groundbreaking #collaboration, #AIF and SIDBI(Small Industries Development Bank of India) have joined hands to implement the WE-LIVES Project - Women Empowerment by Livelihood Improvement, through Value Chain Enhancement and Skilling! This #partnership aims to empower 800 Self-Help Group (SHG) women in Ashok Nagar and Sehore districts of #MadhyaPradesh over 2 years. The signing and exchange of the agreement between Shri saurabh bajpai, DGM, SIDBI, and Mathew Joseph, Country Director, AIF, marks a pivotal moment in the collective journey towards fostering #entrepreneurship among women. In the intervention districts, Training-cum-Production Centres (TPCs) will be established with local village Panchayats, providing #SHG women with skills training and workspace for product development. They'll also receive support for credit connections through government schemes, grants, banks, and more to kickstart or expand their #businesses! But that's not all - a five-layered #MarketLinkage strategy will ensure product access and integration with Open Network for Digital Commerce (#ONDC) and AIF’s Inclusive Buyers Portal, connecting them with diverse marketplaces and customers for income enhancement.
