2026 Predictions for AI

2026 Predictions for AI

Gartner ’s recent report, “Emerging Tech Impact Radar: Artificial Intelligence”, predicts significantadvancements in the emerging category of AI-enabled Decision Intelligence (DI) and has recognized Sapiens Decision as an active player. Consider their 2026 predictions related to AI:

1. Efficiency Boost: Workflow tools and agents will enhance efficiency for 20% ofknowledge workers, up from under 1% today.

2. Personalized Interfaces: AI will drive personalized adaptive user interfaces in 30% of newapplications, up from less than 5% in 2023.

3. AI Integration: Over 80% of independent software vendors will incorporate generative AI(GenAI) capabilities into their enterprise apps, a remarkable increase from under 1% in2023.

DI plays a pivotal role in realizing these predictions. The technology focuses on understanding andengineering decision-making processes, offering transparency and improvement through feedback loopsin both AI and human-driven decisions.

Key use cases for DI include compliance-related decisions (e.g., credit risk assessments), cross-functional decisions (e.g., product recommendations), and frequently modified decisions (e.g., yield management). DI eliminates decision black boxes, promoting transparency and optimizing decision flows.

Organizations will demand DI to optimize decision flows, identifying inefficiencies and mitigating risks. DI ensures that decisions are explicit, an essential requirement for improving processes, business outcomes, and user experiences (e.g., identifying factors leading to riskier loans). DI facilitates continuous evaluation, enhancing decision flow optimization.

Another driver for DI adoption, and strength for Sapiens, is regulatory compliance. As virtual assistants (VAs) and automation grow, explaining and correcting machine-driven decisions becomes crucial. Organizations will adopt DI for resilience, flexibility, and auditability.

Are we there yet? DI adoption is still challenged by decision-making silos, inadequate organizational structure around AI, and fragmentation between business units. But with demand on the rise, Gartner predicts DI is now three to six years from early majority adoption.
