5 COVID-19 Tips for Your Dispensary and Delivery

First off, from myself and the rest of the BLAZE team we commend all cannabis operators that are adjusting quickly and pushing through COVID-19. We hope you, your family and teams are safe & healthy. At our core we are a company that aims to make tech easy and simplify your operations. We are stepping up at this time of need at BLAZE to make sure we keep that promise through the changes. Look out for our delivery and curbside webinars and articles coming out in April to support your evolving business!

While some states now consider Cannabis as an essential business, shelter in place orders are being evaluated, re-evaluated and implemented often at the city and county level. It is critical to check in often with the moving regulations locally. Check out this article from Real Money that has some great information on how different cannabis markets are adjusting to the COVID-19 crisis.

Here are a few helpful tips that will help your teams through these times.

Take Advantage of State Relief Programs

The CDTFA is offering a 3 month extension on filing taxes. For more information go to https://www.cdtfa.ca.gov/services/state-of-emergency-tax-relief.htm

Communicate with and Effectively Listen To Your Customers

Let your customers know about your new procedures with online ordering, delivery and curb side pick up. Utilize your text-marketing system and other channels to push out content, and engage with your customers. Look at what they are purchasing and making informed decisions on what you keep in stock during these times.

Sanitation and Distancing

Keep making sure all work areas are cleaned with disinfectant regularly, and distribute masks and gloves to all personnel. Even though they are not interacting with customers at the store, it will give customers a sense of comfort that their products were handed with extra care.

And remember when interacting with customers and vendors remember to keep the 6 feet distance in mind.

Communicate with your Vendors and Staff

Talk to your brands and distributors. Ask them about their protocols during this time, and share yours. Knowledge is power.

Over communicate with your staff. Check in with your staff daily and give them clear updates with what is going on as laws and procedures change.

Keep Vigilant

Keep vigilant as a responsible, reliable community partner and connect with your local officials such as the city manager, county health officials and law enforcement. As a cannabis community it's important to stay on top of these local relationships at this time.

It will be easy for employees, vendors or customers to become comfortable soon so also stay vigilant with your SOPs and make sure to keep them updated.
