Nerd Girl News (May 23) Releases, LinkedIn Lives, Podcasts, oh my!

I found this one quite by accident, and it works on your iPhone, too! Now I don't have to hook up a DSLR or use a phone app as a webcam. It works natively!

It's been a busy few months. I'm working on a new podcast that will bring you easy techsplanations (thanks Dennis Meyer , I still love that term) while you walk, drive, commute, work, clean the house, or just enjoy sitting in blissful headphone joy.

How do you listen to podcasts? I prefer listening while I drive my daughter to school in the morning, or while I'm taking a walk. Sometimes I listen to one to help me learn, sometimes one to make me laugh.

Here's a quick trailer about what I'll be covering in my new podcast Nerd Girl Jess Untangles Tech. Focusing on staying calm, informative and relevant, the podcast is available with the trailer so you can subscribe using your favorite player and be notified when the first episode airs soon!

Realistic Strategies to Talk about Mental Health at Work

With Jess Stratton and Melissa Doman, M.A.

When it comes to talking about mental health at work, it's a two-way street. The supporter has a responsibility to try to get it right, and so does the sharer. So, does the conversation look different if you want to talk about your mental health with HR, your manager, or your coworkers? What’s a constructive response if a coworker is concerned and wants to discuss your mental health with you? How can you improve your communication skills as part of your professional development, and should you?

This one comes with a little video byte:

And, finally, if you missed PowerPoint Watch Wednesdays, in which I livestreamed my ENTIRE PowerPoint Essential Training (Microsoft 365) course, you can still watch the replays, linked below. Here's a quick overview of what it was like:

That's all from Link-a-palooza! Have a great June, everyone.

Not much into Apple products, though my employer has recently provided me with an iPhone 13 shackle. 😄
