NerdGirl News - Jan23 - Get better iPhone audio
I've been having fun with recording video on my iPhone for social media, and as with any habit, I know I'll do it more often if I can make it as easy and painless as possible. "Removing friction points", as productivity experts like to say. The audio on my iPhone is not good. I record using my Blue Yeti mic, do the hand clap sync, and sync the audio with the video as a separate track. That's a lot of friction points!
As it turns out, with the Lightning-to-USB camera adapter, you can plug your external powered mic directly into your iPhone for world-class audio. If you have a non-pro model iPhone, you may need the adapter with a charging port to power the mic also.
