Resources for continuous learning with ongoing updates

I love sharing information, and some of you might be subscribing to my LinkedIn Newsletters. One of my Newsletters is focused on Book Reviews, and the other is focused on Business Models in the AI Era. I am passionate about continuous learning, and my focus for the past year and a half has been on AI and how it will impact not only independent software vendors (ISVs) but also end-user organizations. I have been in the fortunate position to educate business professionals in business modeling and how to envision solutions using McKinsey's horizon evolution.

For the past three months, through my company, TELLUS International, I have been educating 10+ senior Partner Development Managers for a tech company on how to build a "better together" story by integrating a technology platform with a partner organization's technology. I have also taught them how to use the industry-standard Value Proposition Canvas framework to identify customer jobs, pains, and gains and how to link these into pain relievers, gain creators, and eventually the actual solution. It has been fantastic to see how these seasoned PDM professionals have learned to apply the frameworks we applied to their partner cases and build a "story" that helps them to have discussions with their partners to build a joint future.

Our education is based on strong experience delivering strategy workshops for tens of ISVs of different sizes, from envisioning a solution to building a monetization strategy with pricing/packaging, building a business model for an initial MVP, and planning a Go-To-Market strategy for solution market entry.

As the marketplace is crucial for any ISV, I was also fortunate to work for more than a year with an exciting global brand name and help the organization with its Azure Marketplace strategy. It was interesting to see things from a partner's perspective and what had to be done when bringing the solution to the market. My role was specifically to look at the business models and partner strategy and how to bring other channel partners on the platform as part of the solution stack.

I have added new sections to the TELLUS website to create a common place where I will be collecting information. Part of my role is to do research and stay current on things, so you can expect me to collect information that I can use in my customer deliveries. From a keyword perspective, you can expect my content to be heavily focused on the evolution of AI and its impact on businesses. I will also do some dives into specific technologies such as document management and SharePoint, as that is part of the interim CTO services I offer to companies.

I have added a new resource section (besides the blog) as part of the menu structure. It includes three sections:

  • Book Reviews - Book reviews of interesting books that I feel are important or I have personally liked where I am with my life. The same book reviews can be found in my LinkedIn Dr. Salonen Book Reviews.
  • Webinars: TELLUS has, with the partnership of A-CX design and engineering firm, researched AI, and we have delivered more than 10 Webinars in the series "Approachable AI" sessions to educate and discuss different topics within the AI domain. All those webinars can now be found on the TELLUS website with links to the YouTube channel managed by A-CX.
  • Events: The section includes either recordings of events where we have participated or other event-related materials. The latest event was the North American Cloud and Collaboration Summit 2024 (NACS), where we held a session about AI and its impact on organizations, including business models.

My objective is also to collect links to different resources that could benefit you in your journey of continuous learning. If you have ideas when reviewing the materials, let me know what you are specifically interested in.

I love the era we are in; there is a fundamental shift due to AI. I have been watching the Microsoft Build 2024 event, and it is mindblowing how much things have advanced within a year.

I hope you will benefit from the information sharing both here on LinkedIn and on the TELLUS website.

Yours,

Dr. Petri I. Salonen
