We are the BEST!!

We are the BEST!!

It is amazing the things you catch online after doing some educating and reading! I have been reading The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek, and let me tell you...GAME CHANGER! If you haven't picked up this book yet, do it. You won't be disappointed.

So what am I catching online? So many posts about being the "BEST" in the business. Don't get me wrong, there are a large amount of companies that are great at what they do, but to advertise you are the BEST, means everyone has to play by the SAME rules.

A simple example. I am in Talent Acquisition. I come from a history of agency recruiting. To say my company was the best, would mean, I am aligning EVERY OTHER staffing agency to the same criteria. We have the most placements, candidate selection, pricing, customer service, knowledge, communication, etc. It is such a deceiving word, considering there is always someone better, faster, and more educated. Now working in Corporate Talent Acquisition, I receive emails daily. "We are the best, come do business with us." How will the response be received when I ask, "What exactly are you the best in?"

I appreciate the confidence you need to carry every day to run a successful business. We all do. But all businesses aren't about being the best!!! Who are you competing with and why? Be true to your morals, your ethics, your passion, your commitment, and be better today than you were yesterday. You should be competing with yourself and not other companies. To focus there, will only be a distraction. Focus on your self-growth and self-discipline.

The Infinite Game shares about why it's important to set the future generations up for success. Stop focusing on right in front of you, and focus on what is to come and what it takes to get there.

Make today awesome and keep learning and growing! You got this! Be the BEST you and don't worry about how you rank up against others. Your criteria is different!

Bye for now.
