Global Nature Positive Summit 2024

Australia will host the first Global Nature Positive Summit on 8-10 October 2024. The Summit aims to accelerate collective action to drive investment in nature and strengthen activities to protect and repair our environment. By facilitating cross-sector engagement between governments, the private sector, researchers, Indigenous Peoples and environmental groups, the Summit will help: • share what works – best practice and pathways for implementation • showcase innovative tools and approaches that enable nature positive outcomes • build consensus on the economic settings needed to increase investment in nature • demonstrate commitment and progress towards the goals of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The Summit is co-hosted by the Australian Government and New South Wales state Government. “Transitioning from nature destruction to nature repair, will require a mighty global effort. We need government leading the way, but we also need the private sector, environmentalists and First Nations groups all pulling in the same direction.” - The Honourable Tanya Plibersek MP, Australia’s Minister for the Environment and Water.
