In addition to Reader Mode, iOS 18 will introduce an easier way to access the Magnifier app's Detection Mode using the Action button.

Initially launched with the iPhone 15 Pro models, the Action button is expected to be included in the entire iPhone 16 lineup.

According to a report by MacRumors, Detection Mode can identify and read aloud all text within the iPhone camera's field of view, significantly assisting users with visual impairments.

Smoother Access to the Magnifier App

Currently, iPhone users can set the Action button to open the Magnifier app. The new update will expand this integration, making utilizing the app's features even more convenient.

Other Accessibility Features to Check on iOS 18

Aside from the upgrade that the Magnifier app received, there are other accessibility features we can use soon by the time the newest iOS arrives.

According to Tech Times, there's an eye-tracking integration that is touted to be available for iOS and iPadOS.

This AI-powered feature is useful for iPhone and iPad users who have eye problems since it can allow a person to use their handsets through their eyes.

On top of that, Music Haptics is also coming for people with ear issues. If your friend is deaf or has difficulty in hearing, this functionality can lend him/her a hand thanks to the Taptic Engine which translates sounds into sensations.

Elsewhere, CarPlay users can explore Voice Control, Sound Recognition, and Color Filters as the newest accessibility features on iOS 18.

It should be noted that TechRadar has an interesting report about the features tipped for iOS 18. Although some of them only appeared as leaks or rumors, they would still be great if they came to life.

Some of them are the most anticipated features like Siri AI upgrade, AI App Store, a more customized home screen, a major makeover on the UI design, and more accessibility features.
