An earlier leak about Fortnite x X-Men '97's collaboration excited fans, but now, contrary to earlier beliefs, a new claim says it will no longer happen this season.

Season 5 was filled with massive crossovers, which arrived on the famed battle island, but it will skip out on the hottest animated show from Marvel Studios, which revived the old cartoon.

The good thing is that the leaker claimed that it will not arrive for only this season, which raises the possibility that this crossover may happen in further seasons.

new post from HYPEX, a renowned Fortnite leaker, claimed that the game's collaboration with X-Men '97 is not yet coming this season, and no reasons were divulged.

The leaker said there was already a section on the Item Shop that focused on "X-Men," and it was speculated that it would feature the new skins from this collaboration.

However, Epic Games put on the old skins from its previous Marvel collaboration, which featured the mutants Rogue and Gambit.

While HYPEX suggested that it is not happening, they later clarified that it may not be entirely the case for this anticipated collaboration.

Will X-Men '97 Arrive in the Following Seasons?

HYPEX believes it is only delayed for this season, meaning that further updates and releases from Fortnite may bring the X-Men '97 crossover that many look forward to.

This follows the immense success of Marvel Studios' animated show, which aired exclusively on Disney Plus and picked up where it left off from the original events of X-Men (1995).

New seasons mean new collaborations and crossovers on Epic Games' Fortnite, offering massively renowned pop culture icons and franchises to make their way to the battle island at different times.

While there are no exact timelines for new collaborations, each season has its featured offer in Fortnite. Season 5 mainly centers on Greek mythology, seeing Midas and God of War's Kratos return.

When the news behind X-Men '97's crossover went live, there were no doubts that this would arrive in the battle royale, as it is not the first time that the famed mutants of Marvel have been in the game.

The first saw Wolverine arrive almost four years ago with Iron Man, Thor, Doctor Doom, and more, but the most recent one was the love affair of Rogue and Gambit.

Mutants hold a special place in every comic book fan's heart, whether DC or Marvel. The X-Men are known for their massive stories and relevance in the pop culture industry.

Fortnite's plan to bring X-Men '97 may be thwarted now, but that does not mean it is canceled. This season would skip it, but no word behind it getting scrapped was mentioned.
