Another video game-to-movie adaptation is coming, and this time, it will feature the colorful, user-controlled simulation game, The Sims, from Electronic Arts to make it to the big screen.

The latest developments behind this movie claim that it is going with Amazon MGM to help turn it into a reality from its theatrical release down to its availability on streaming apps.

Puck's newsletter revealed the latest development to EA's The Sims which was earlier rumored to get its movie adaptation, with this latest update now saying that Amazon MGM has won the bidding for the film's rights. In this bidding, Netflix initially gave more for the film's rights, but Margot Robbie's LuckyChap Entertainment wanted a theatrical release.

With that being said, Amazon MGM is now the studio that will help transform The Sims into movie reality and deliver it to audiences and fans worldwide.

This also suggests that when it is time for its streaming availability, Amazon's Prime Video may get exclusive streaming rights for a certain time before other platforms.

The earlier news behind The Sims' movie adaptation said that Margot Robbie would lead the cast, but it was not revealed who the actress would portray, especially as the game does not have a set protagonist. Moreover, many will look for the game's iconic language, Simlish, to be portrayed in the film.

Robbie will be working alongside Kate Herron as the director and Briony Redman as a co-writer in the film's screenplay.

For now, there are no ideas behind The Sims' plot or story, as well as when it would be available to watch.

The Sims: One of the Top Simulation Games

Simulation games may have been a niche before, but now, it has been a full-blown gaming genre and has seen a cult following for many years now, including Electronic Arts' The Sims

The game was originally released in 2000 by EA, and it has grown into one of the top simulation games and renowned franchises in the world, with the latest release being The Sims 4

There are no exact stories in The Sims game, and this is one of its most beloved features as it allows a player to create their traction, careers, progression, and life in the renowned title.

Over the years, there have been massive downloadable content or expansion packs available from EA for the game, one that makes it possible to live a new kind of life apart from the main game's offerings.

From living a married life to one with kids, down to Halloween expansions and the renowned Star Wars crossover, gamers have enjoyed a lot of The Sims over the years.

While not exactly having a story, this will make it a great canvas for filmmakers to create their own for the game's movie adaptation, all converging in the world of The Sims, speaking the gibberish 'Simlish,' with Margot Robbie living her life and Amazon MGM to turn it into reality.
