Should You Buy the New Beats Pill?

The new Beats Pill will still feature the same design, but its tweeter is getting a tweak from Apple to deliver better sounds, crisper highs, and mids, as well as a 20-degree tilt upwards for better sounds.

Apple's old Beats Pill was priced at $230, and the new release is expected to retail at around the same price tag as the upcoming Bluetooth speaker, featuring its massive new features.

Apple's Development of Beats

In 2014, Apple acquired Beats by Dr. Dre and continued using the brand's name and legacy to deliver its take on audio streaming devices, offering its tech developments to improve the experience. In 2015, one of the earliest releases from the acquisition, Apple released the Beats Pill+, which is widely considered among the best iterations of the lineup of all time.

However, in 2022, reports made a sad discovery, as Apple quietly discontinued the Beats Pill lineup, making the first Apple Beats Pill+ release from 2015 its last. It also marked history books as Apple's last battery-powered speaker from its releases, with Apple's HomePod lineup relying on being plugged in at all times and not being portable.

The recent rumors about a new Beats Pill first sparked when Los Angeles Lakers forward and NBA superstar LeBron James was seen sporting a new device that is speculated to be the Pill.

After this, it was spotted in an FCC filing, which suggests it is coming soon. The latest report cites anonymous sources who boast of what the new Beats Pill could offer.
