The UK startup Nothing's sub-brand CMF will release its first smartphone, the CMF Phone 1.

A post on social networking site X (formerly Twitter) teases a distinctive design and promotes the upcoming smartphone as an entry-level device. Carl Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus, led CMF by Nothing in announcing the launch of the CMF Phone 1.

The sub-brand, specializing in inventive, affordable designs, teased an orange faux leather rear panel. The round dial resembles the CMF Buds charging case's lanyard holder, according to Gadget 360. The smartphone dial's function is unknown.

CMF announced that the CMF Phone 1 is "coming soon." Earlier rumors said the phone would cost roughly about $150. Though rumors persist, smartphone maker has not announced a debut date. Though, the caption hints at a launch, it does not reveal the device's design or functions. But reports indicate expectations and leaked specs.

CMF Phone 1's design differs from the Nothing Phone 2a, announced earlier this year, despite suspicions that it may be a rebrand. Nothing's phones use the Glyph interface, but the CMF Phone 1 teasers don't, implying a different design.

Unconfirmed claims say the CMF Phone 1 would have a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display with substantial bezels. It should have a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 CPU and 6GB of RAM. UFS 2.2 onboard storage may be 128GB or 256 GB. The phone may run NothingOS 2.6.0, a pre-release version, as reported by the Financial Express.

CMF Phone 1 may include a dual-back camera with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens. The front camera should be 16 megapixels. The phone may consist of a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.

A later X post featured phone and screw emoticons, suggesting that the promised product was a new smartphone. Despite these indications, there has been no suppression of details, which has increased the excitement surrounding the CMF Phone 1.

CMF by Nothing, launched last year, strives to deliver unique and cheap technologies to more people without affecting Nothing's main product range. Notably, CMF and Nothing function independently to focus and prevent internal competition, according to Carl Pei. This method also allows CMF to focus on offering outstanding, low-priced items.

CMF has previously made audio items and timepieces, but the CMF Phone 1 is its first smartphone, which is why it generates excitement among tech fans.

The CMF Phone 1's marketing strategy continues the company's tradition of buzz, according to Android Central. It proves to be effective as the market closely tracks the initial smartphone launch of CMF by Nothing. As an entry-level phone with premium features, it targets budget-conscious users seeking innovative design and functionality.

CMF by Nothing, launched in 2023, promises distinctive and inventive designs for budget-conscious consumers. The sub-brand, led by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, offers inexpensive technology without sacrificing design or utility.
