WhatsApp video calls are set to be bigger and better. The Meta-owned application will introduce a major upgrade, increasing the number of people included in a video call, adding a speaker spotlight feature, and offering a screen sharing option.

The speaker spotlight enhancement makes it easier for users to see who is speaking during a call. When users start chatting, a friend's profile automatically gets emphasized and shows up first on the screen.

WhatsApp's Recent Updates

The anticipated video call update coincides with WhatsApp's ongoing updates, which target various messaging platform users. Users reportedly got a first look at some of WhatsApp's newest features, including an improved editing tool and user interface, when the app was still in beta.

The most recent update improves upon the previous version's revamped drawing editor by putting the color and brush tools in a bottom bar for easy access, especially on larger displays.

Since the 24 pre-made colors currently available will no longer be a restriction, users can select a specific hue directly from the image they are altering. Alternatively, they can use the entire color spectrum shown in the image, which allows for precise color coordination and matching.

The color chooser option is intriguing for those who share visual updates with their friends using WhatsApp's status function. With this new tool, users may create status updates that precisely reflect their style, making them more elegant and visually stunning.

The color chooser lets users visually represent who they are by adding matching elements to a themed status or a pop of color to a selfie. It is currently in development and not yet available to the general public, but it should be added in a future app version.

AI on WhatsApp Business

Conversely, the WhatsApp Business App is set to introduce several AI-powered functionalities, a calculated step toward augmenting the platform's potential for generating income via focused advertising.

The new features were unveiled on June 6 at Meta's annual "Conversations" corporate communications conference in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

By utilizing AI algorithms, businesses may streamline communication, increase response times, and automate answers to frequently asked consumer questions. To provide quick answers to the most commonly requested inquiries by businesses on WhatsApp, the company is also training AI systems to handle those queries.

The internet giant unveiled Meta Verified, a verification mechanism for companies using the WhatsApp Business app. Using Meta Verified, businesses can get greater account support, prevent impersonation, and authenticate their accounts.
