A new announcement from Discord and Sony unveils its new update for the Discord app on the PlayStation 5, and it now offers a way for users to place calls directly from the console to their contacts. This means that voice chats can now be made from the PS5, and this recent update is now available for all users who own the console.

However, Discord and Sony claimed that it would first start with a gradual release in Japan and several Asian countries, but it would be later followed by other regions worldwide.
Through Discord's voice chats, gamers may enjoy playing multiplayer or co-op games and watching videos on the platform made through their PS5 consoles. Users only need to link their PlayStation Network account to Discord for the experience.

Discord PS5 No Longer Needs Mobile Transfers
Gone are the days when PS5 players could only place calls via Discord through their mobile device apps, needing to transfer the call to their console to continue communication. Users may also join calls on the PS5 via the System menu, which will be accessible via Game Base.
There would be a Discord option directly on Game Base where users could join calls instantly with a tap.
