Amazon is currently working on a live-action adaptation of the popular animated series "Totally Spies!" The new series, overseen by executive producer Will Ferrell, is based on the beloved 2000s show initially produced by Banijay Kids.

'Totally Spies!' Live-Action TV Series
Amazon has announced plans to bring the popular French animated series "Totally Spies!" to life in a new live-action TV series, with Hollywood star Will Ferrell taking on the role of executive producer.
This adaptation is aimed at a young adult audience. It will revolve around the adventures of Clover, Alex, and Sam, who juggle their responsibilities as international spies for the WOOHP agency while navigating the typical challenges and experiences of being college freshmen.
Variety reported that the series promises to blend action-packed spy missions with the comedic and relatable aspects of coming-of-age stories, capturing the essence of the original animated show that gained a dedicated fan base.
No writers or actors are still confirmed for the upcoming "Totally Spies!" series. This project is a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Banijay Kids & Family, overseen by Amazon's head of Pan-English original series, Rola Bauer.
Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor will join Will Ferrell in executive producing the project through their Gloria Sanchez Productions banner. Benoît Di Sabatino, CEO of Banijay Kids & Family, serves as executive producer for the studio.
The original "Totally Spies!" animated series, developed by Vincent Chalvon-Demersay and David Michel, has aired nearly 200 episodes since its debut in 2001. It also inspired a prequel movie titled "Totally Spies! The Movie" and a spinoff series called "The Amazing Spiez!"
The show launched its seventh season in France recently and is scheduled to premiere on Cartoon Network in the US later this year. Fans can stream "Totally Spies!" on Amazon's Prime Video platform.
According to Di Sabatino, "Totally Spies!" has achieved immense success under Banijay Kids & Family. The animated series has been translated into 60 languages and distributed to over 220 territories. It boasts a social media following of 3 million and recently debuted its seventh season.
Rola Bauer proposed a live-action adaptation, leading to a partnership with Amazon MGM Studios. Supported by Ludovic Attal and Punit Matoo, they are delighted to collaborate with Gloria Sanchez Productions, known for its focus on female-led content, to produce this series for Prime Video.
Gloria Sanchez, president of Elbaum, expressed excitement about collaborating with Amazon and Banijay to produce the live-action adaptation of "Totally Spies!" She highlighted Gloria Sanchez's mission to empower female voices and storytellers, saying that the series aligns perfectly with its ethos.
