Beyond Photos: Expanded Protection in iOS 17.2
Originally focused on photos and videos, Sensitive Content Warnings were expanded in iOS 17.2. Now, they also blur explicit stickers and Contact Posters received through Messages, according to CNET.
How to Turn on Sensitive Content Warnings on Your iPhone
Enabling this feature is very easy with the following steps below.
- Open Settings.
- Tap Privacy & Security.
- Select Sensitive Content Warning.
- Toggle the switch next to Sensitive Content Warning.
- Managing Sensitive Content Warnings
Once activated, these warnings will automatically blur potentially sensitive content across various apps:
- Messages: Incoming photos and videos, as well as stickers.
- AirDrop: Received photos and videos.
- Contact Posters: Explicit images displayed in the Phone app's contact information.
- FaceTime Video Messages: Incoming video calls containing nudity.
- App & Service Access: Customizing Warning Applications
Within the Sensitive Content Warning menu, navigate to "App & Service Access." Here, you can choose which apps trigger these warnings.
Accessing Safety Resources
If you receive blurred content, tap the triangle with an exclamation point in the top-right corner. This opens valuable resources:
- Tips on handling harassment.
- Information to consider before viewing blurred images or sending nude photos.
- Resources for adults, children, and teenagers.
- Viewing Blurred Content (Optional)
If you choose to see the blurred content, tap the "Show" button in the bottom-right corner of the image.
