    “The launch of the DCE WIL Advisory Council is the first of its kind, which was necessitated by the existing gap between the curriculum at universities and industry requirements. It will also make recommendations to the University on possible changes to the curriculum to produce sufficiently equipped and employable students upon completion of their studies,” said Council Chairperson, Mxolisi Mathebula.

    Assisted Motorola in formulating the Employment Equity strategy within the context of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE). Established the first Motorola South Africa Employment Equity Forum as part of compliance with the Department of Labour Code of Good Practice in Employment Equity.

    Participated in the Motorola Inc Global Broad - Based Black Economic Empowerment Virtual team to produce Motorola South Africa Equity Equivalence Program and Business Plan to be submitted to the Department of Trade & Industry. The objective was to obtain exception from selling equity in the Motorola Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd. Worked on the three elements of the score card, namely Management and Control, Employment Equity, and Skills Development

    Introduced the Commercial Advancement Training Scheme (CATS) to Motorola in 2005 as the very first commercial learnership. This is the scheme that was introduced to South Africa by the Southern African German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its member companies in 1985. It is now a division and the offering of the newly established Southern African German Training Services (a training company of the Southern African German Chamber of Commerce and Industry)

    Introduced the first technical and engineering learnership, namely Engineers In Training Program (EIT). This is the program that recruits the engineering graduates from the Universities of Technology, Higher Universities, and FET Colleges to undergo two years of in the company telecommunications technical and engineering training to complete their P1 and P2 practical work.
