A global media platform and content partner that elevates voices in the news cycle. Online since 1998.

About us

Digital Journal is a global media platform and content partner that elevates voices in the news cycle by capturing and covering firsts. What do we mean by firsts? It’s simple: those moments in time when a business, a leader, a startup, or an incumbent shares information with the world for the first time. A news flash, if you will. Why we do it: =========== When we elevate voices in the news cycle, we both help businesses share these firsts and empower our audiences to learn something new. That’s a powerful combination. How we get it done =============== Our mission to elevate voices and unearth insight is rooted in our belief that single, important pieces of news and information are lost in a fragmented (and quite frankly loud) news cycle. We are a platform. And our platform allows us to take news flashes and distribute them to a network of niche publications, so we share firsts both broadly and to niche audiences focused on specific subject matter. What we value ============ • We are curious. Always. • We collaborate. • We listen more than we talk. • We value differences.

Men control 80-90% of tech leadership roles, making them crucial to closing the gender pay gap. A recent study highlights the wage disparity, revealing that mid-senior-level women saw no real wage growth from 2016-2021. To drive change, men must leverage their influence to sponsor and advance women in tech. Absolutely THRILLED(‼️) to share that Digital Journal Group (DJG) has been shortlisted for an Elevation Award from B2B Marketing for the best use of B2B thought leadership in the United States. The awards "represent the best of the best in US B2B marketing" and judges for this program are senior American and global marketing leaders at companies like CGI, Intel, Salesforce, Tata Consultancy Services, GE, KPMG, Nestle and more. The thought leadership award we have been shortlisted for is in recognition for the ACCELERATE program we built with Sarah C. and Computer Modelling Group. We built an editorial publication from scratch, led multiple roundtables with large global brands, deployed teams who did live event coverage from multiple cities in the U.S., and landed media syndication in less than one year. ACCELERATE is one of the highest-impact content marketing programs I've ever had the opportunity to be part of building. We landed a huge audience organically, converted audiences into leads, collaborated with tier-1 global brands, and have been amplified by dozens of senior leaders as we have covered energy transition and innovation. The #B2BElevationAwards celebrate excellence in US B2B marketing and they recognize those who are setting new standards, raising the bar, and showing the world that B2B marketing can be just as creative and innovative as B2C. B2B marketing agencies like DJG rely on strong working relationships with our clients, and the collaboration with CMG was one of the most seamless, unsiloed, and strategic initiatives we've collaborated on. A big thank you to Sarah who led these efforts at CMG, and to everyone at CMG for being so supportive. Winners are announced in September, but we're already thrilled to make it to one of six companies in the U.S. shortlisted for this prestigious award. https://lnkd.in/gfSiBk3J

Companies worldwide are projected to spend almost $4 trillion on digital transformation by 2027. The benefits — increased efficiency, better customer experiences, and data security — are clear. But you won’t reap those benefits without solid leadership. The Harvard Business Review reports that only 12% of digital transformation plans yield lasting results due to inefficient leadership. You see a lot of initial fanfare and enthusiasm, only for a company’s transformative goals to continue to be far on the horizon even years after an estimated deadline. So, how can companies improve leadership in digital transformation efforts to retain lasting change? Read our latest article here ⬇ https://lnkd.in/gHnpwPYM The challenges industry leaders face in digital transformation were also explored during a #meshcon conversation earlier this week. Speakers Shawn Mahoney, Brenda Beckedorf, and Karrie Van Belle agreed that poor or resistant leadership is a factor in slowing transformation down. When asked what's holding #DigitalTransformation back, Van Belle pointed to the decision makers, noting that industries are in need of disruptors in leadership. Beckedorf said people’s fear of losing their jobs to emerging tech was a major factor, but educating leaders “will help move the needle.” Mahoney said it was the overarching systems baked into business. "The systems are resistant by their nature," said Mahoney, co-founder of Spare Parts & Gasoline. "We have to be ready to build something better."

For both investors and founders on the hunt for capital, Sandi Gilbert, CEO of InterGen, and Marcus Daniels, venture capitalist at Highline Beta, say it's all about the relationship. "Investment is a long term courtship and an even longer marriage," Gilbert told the crowd at #meshcon this afternoon. "In fact, investor-founder relationships last longer than most marriages." And just like marriage, Daniels echoes that these relationships requires honest communication — even during difficult periods. Daniels said investors should never get caught unaware when a business is struggling, and should have an understanding of why something went wrong and how to make it better. "You should know when things are starting to fall apart so you can try to help," said Daniels. "It's important to have a lot of empathy" The level of trust in this kind of partnership is a two-way street, both speaker explained, so if you choose partners that have similar values to you, you'll be more successful. "Founders are taking a risk to quit their job, and the founders are risking cutting that cheque," said Gilbert. #DigitalTransformation #innovation

"The state of the workplace and workers and work today can be characterized by an acronym: FUCK," says Meghan Donohoe at the final sessions of #meshcon Day 2. She goes on to explain that this stands for: Failing mental health Uncertainty Conflict Kaleidoscope of expectations people have, of how they interact with work, which is completely shifting Leaders carry the burden of these challenges, and then that burden trickles down to everyone else in their organization, says Donohoe. With this context in mind, commonly held leadership beliefs just aren't working anymore, which means change is required, says Sabrina Sullivan (she / her) who shares the stage with Donohoe. And while that might sound scary, Sullivan suggests thinking of it less as change and more as innovation. Meaning there is no playbook. No one "right" way of doing things. Sullivan and Donohoe want to encourage leaders to embrace discomfort and drastically change the way they look at and plan for the future. As an example of how to do this, they invite the crowd to play a card game they call, "Leaders For Humanity" — everyone in the audience is provided with a future scenario and then invited to choose a leadership response to this scenario, from options listed on cards they were provided with. "When we entertain the silly or even the impossible, then sometimes in that we can see the possible. And we can start to unlock new ways we might approach a problem — especially when we compare an action that we might take today, to a very different scenario," says Donohoe. She notes that while the leaders she coaches often want a toolkit for what they should do, she doesn't give them one. "It's not about the 'what,' it's about the people you bring around you, and the conversations you have. And then what questions you ask." #DigitalTransformation #innovation
