125 years of Munich Orphanage 🎈 The Munich Orphanage is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. As part of a colorful summer party, the children and young people celebrated together with caregivers, parents, friends and sponsors. We, as a long-standing partner, were also there and supported the party by not only supervising a wheel of fortune with gifts, but also organizing stations such as bullriding and the photo box. As one of a total of three municipal children's and youth homes, the orphanage offers 137 children and young people aged 0 to 21 a safe place to grow up. The children and young people live in a total of 16 residential groups with a curative educational daily routine that gives them structure and security, as well as the opportunity to develop and grow. Here we go again: Get Active for Charity 2024 is in full swing! 🏃♀️ 👟 🚲 SIXT employees worldwide can do good by doing sports from 12th to 21st of July. The disciplines are running, hiking and cycling. Every kilometer covered by our SIXT colleagues will be converted by SIXT SE into a donation towards the Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation DRYING LITTLE TEARS. Excited to share our involvement in 'Geef Down De Toekomst', an annual soccer tournament for children with Down Syndrome in Amsterdam!⚽🥅  This year marked its 10th edition, and SIXT Netherlands proudly participated during their DRYING LITTLE TEARS Day. Alongside 100+ volunteers, the team helped set up, distributed Goodie-Bags, led crafts, coached teams, and most importantly, spread smiles among the kids! Empower young minds. Donate books. 📚🧡 We are currently calling on our SIXT colleagues at the offices in Pullach, Berlin and Rostock to donate children's books and give them a second life in child care centers in Germany. Reading aloud promotes linguistic development and stimulates children's imagination. With our campaign "Empower young minds. Donate books." for SIXT employees, we are working together with Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. in Upper Bavaria amongst others. Collected books are made available to the child day care centers, which can then be read aloud in the centers as part of the reading hour, so called "Bookworm hour". The Bookworm is a hand puppet that indicates reading time and is regarded by the Order of St. John as a key figure in promoting language skills of children.  In this context Barbara Ottmann, Head of Day Care Upper Bavaria of Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. emphasizes: „For us, it is crucial to promote the linguistic development of the youngest children by reading aloud, as it stimulates their imagination and expands their vocabulary.“ We are delighted that we can work together on this wonderful topic! #dryinglittletears #reginesixtkinderhilfestiftung #Johanniter #sixt #lesen2024 #donatebooks #empoweryoungminds

Fighting child poverty in Germany, Die ARCHE Kinderstiftung has been a beacon of hope for children from underprivileged backgrounds since 1995. With 32 locations nationwide, it reaches over 6,000 children and adolescents. Since May 2022, “Die Arche Rostock” has been supporting 30-40 children aged 6-13 with free warm meals, homework help, and various recreational activities. On May 31st, we joined their colorful festival! Our SIXT team in Rostock enthusiastically supported the event, organizing and managing fun stations like a bouncy castle, craft stand and face painting on their DRYING LITTLE TEARS Day. The day was a huge success for everyone involved, and we are incredibly proud of our Rostock colleagues' dedication. Thank you for your amazing efforts! At Sterntalerhof, families with seriously ill children find a place of security, confidence, and joy. This incredible institution relies on the support of donors, partners, and volunteers. Recently, a team of seven SIXT employees from @sixtat dedicated their DRYING LITTLE TEARS Day to helping at Sterntalerhof. We're thrilled to share that the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation has successfully completed a project at the Blessed Gérard's Children's Home in Mandeni, South Africa. With our partners Brotherhood of Blessed Gérard and Order of Malta we renovated and furnished the kitchen and sanitation facilities and created play areas for the children. Thanks to these efforts, 40 children aged 0 to 12 now enjoy a loving, home-like environment where they can learn essential life skills. The SIXT Commercial Controlling & Analytics team used their DRYING LITTLE TEARS Day to build a new raised vegetable bed for a day care centre of the Order of St. John. The little ones can soon watch the flowers grow and harvest their own fruit and vegetables. Since the onset of the invasion by Russian troops on February 24, 2022, our commitment to supporting the affected children has remained steadfast, as we are supporting them in the Ukraine, but also abroad. To date, we've realized 50 emergency aid projects and activities, directly impacting over 10,000 children. And we will continue these efforts until they are no longer necessary. We're ensuring access to education in Ukraine. Through innovative initiatives, such as converting cellar rooms into classrooms in Voloshynivka and Baryshivka, we're providing vital face-to-face learning opportunities despite the challenging circumstances. Our support extends beyond the borders of Ukraine to aid also Ukrainian refugee families. For instance, we've contributed to the renovation of play and learning spaces in refugee accommodations in Munich, providing safe havens for childcare, recreation, and education. In Berlin, we're proud to be part of the transformation of the former St. Gabriel convent into a sanctuary for 28 Ukrainian women and their 39 children. We've helped equip a daycare center, ensuring a nurturing environment for the children amidst adversity. Empowering communities near our SIXT India's headquarters remains a core focus of their Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. Continuing their commitment, they've expanded educational facilities, building and equipping five new classrooms at Nammura Government Higher Primary School. These modern spaces aim to enhance learning experiences for children, fostering IT skills and exposing them to professional insights through guest lectures by SIXT India employees.
