Signing up for GitHub Advanced Security

You can sign up for GitHub Advanced Security from your enterprise account's settings to take advantage of extra security features that GitHub makes available to customers under a GitHub Advanced Security license.

Who can use this feature?

Enterprise owners can sign up for GitHub Advanced Security.

GitHub Advanced Security is available for enterprise accounts on GitHub Enterprise Cloud. Some features of GitHub Advanced Security are also available for public repositories on GitHub.com. For more information, see "GitHub’s plans."

Purchasing GitHub Advanced Security

  1. In the top-right corner of GitHub, click your profile photo, then click Your enterprises.

  2. In the list of enterprises, click the enterprise you want to view.

  3. On the left side of the page, in the enterprise account sidebar, click Settings.

  4. Under Settings, click Enterprise licensing.

    Note

    Enterprise accounts, and organizations owned by enterprise accounts, created after June 2, 2024, have access to the enhanced billing platform. Enterprises that participated in the beta program also have access to the enhanced billing platform.

    As part of the enhanced billing platform, the licensing page has been relocated. See "Gathering insights on your spending."

  5. To the right of "GitHub Advanced Security", click Buy Advanced Security.

  6. Under "How many committers do you want to include?", enter the number of committers you want to purchase licenses for. For more information about committer numbers, see "About billing for GitHub Advanced Security."

  7. Confirm your billing information and payment method.

  8. Click Purchase Advanced Security.
