Architecture[edit]

The storage solution software is running cross platform as a server component, configurable in any browser in a network. There are versions for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Solaris (operating system), saving data to tape or disk. It consists of three modules: Synchronize, Backup & Backup2go and Archive.

The primary function is to ensure data availabilty. As required, data can be either automatically or individually transferred, secured or archived. The user decides how often the process takes place in real time or at intervals. The user interface is browser based and enables the user to manage data from any location once connected to the web. According to permissions assigned to the users, clients can backup and restore data independently from the administrator.

Regardless which file server, hardware, platform or operating system is employed, PresSTORE Backup transfers data in a neutral format while maintaining platform-specific information. This enables the user to save heterogeneous networks with a single backup solution. The Backup can be interrupted at any time and will continue the backup automatically from the point where it had been stopped. All interrupted backups are functional and the software is making incremental backups, reducing the amount of data necessary to be copied.
