Motherboards which don't support at least 2GB BAR size are considered not working.

If you're having any issues please see Common issues (and fixes) before replying.

Use this format in your comment:

  • Motherboard: (motherboard model)
  • GPU: (gpu model, include vram if it comes with multiple vram sizes)
  • UEFIPatch: (yes or no depending on if you needed it)
  • DSDT Patch: (yes or no depending on if you needed it)
  • BAR Size: (BAR size that GPU-Z (Windows) or lspci (Linux) shows)
  • RAM: (the amount of ram in your pc)
  • Resume from sleep: (works or doesn't. if sleep doesnt work even without rebar then leave blank)
  • Notes: any additional information and screenshots of GPU-Z Resizable BAR and GPU control panel showing rebar working optionally with CPU-Z and/or Device Manager Large Memory showing too.

Would my Z97-Pro be considered working? I haven't tried the 16GB patch (only tested to 8GB), but it needs the replacement of the older 1204 NvramSmi module and the PciBus UEFIPatch to work. The GPU tested is the Intel Arc A380 (will test the A770 once I get a replacement power supply).

GPU-Z says 3 bars are available - 16MB, 32MB, and 32GB. (before it was 16,32,256MB, and it said "disabled in bios")

Thanks a lot for making this tool.

After you flash it, try to find Above 4G Decoding option in your bios, enable it after disabling csm, and then use rebarstate.exe or nvstrapsrebar.exe (for nvidia 16 and 20 series) to enable rebar.

Edit: I had to set the bar size to 2gb because my "unsupported 4gb card", tested on a couple of benchmarks/games and everything works as expected now.

Edit2: After more testing I found a game which doesn't work well with 2gb (doom 2016) fps dropped from 150-200 to 40-50 in the same spot. Decreasing the rebar to 1gb solved this issue and fps are now the same as they are without rebar enabled. Why performance are worse with some games but better with other with 2gb bar?

Edit3: HERE is a link to a folder with some bios rom files (original, rebar modded, rebar + above4g shown in bios), just in case someone else needs them. Remember to disable csm (also reminded in the bios) with above 4g enabled or you won't be able to enter bios unless you clear cmos.

@Don-Keballs I used these guides in sequence, and outlined the outcomes for each step

  1. https://github.com/xCuri0/ReBarUEFI/wiki/Adding-FFS-module = Used UEFITool method
  2. https://github.com/xCuri0/ReBarUEFI/wiki/Using-UEFIPatch = No Patch was required when i ran the program.
  3. https://github.com/xCuri0/ReBarUEFI/wiki/DSDT-Patching = DSDT patching was not required on my mobo/cpu combo.
  4. https://github.com/xCuri0/ReBarUEFI/wiki/Flashing-modified-UEFI = Flashed using CH341A

Alot safer if you do a BIOS read using the CH341A for your exact machine. That way you also get a backup of your system BIOS that you know works. The flashing using the CH341A has no safeguards unlike the Dell flasher thus can brick your machine if not careful.

When I first tried patching on F53a, the UEFI patch didn't work because of the BIOS security feature. Qflash also had an "invalid BIOS image" issue.

I had to downgrade to F50d with AGESA 1.0.0.6 to resolve this issue.
After the downgrade, the "ReBarDxe.ffs" file was inserted into F53a and the patch was successfully applied using Qflash.

The frame enhancement is approximately 23%, indicating a significant reduction in CPU and GPU bottlenecks.

Do I have to run "ReBarState.exe" again after Windows format?

Motherboard: ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero
GPU: Arc A750
UEFIPatch: Yes
DSDT Patch: No
BAR Size: 8 Gb
AM: 16 Gb
Resume from sleep: works now, didn't work before
Notes: Monitor ROG PG278Q shows heavily corrupted image when running on 144hz and works absolutely normal on 120hz and below. Had to plug in old Lenovo Li2215sd 60hz through VGA to DP adapter for troubleshooting. Both monitors refuse to show any image from videocard if bios is set to default settings, which include disabled "above 4g decoding" and enabled CMS (also OC tweaks), Worth mentioning that pg278q did show image on first plug in which got heavily corrupted each time bios switched to different loading screen and went dark when I rebooted with disabled CMS. Both displays work without issues on 980ti even after rebar activation. Should I consider DSDT patch?
My older post before I got A750 just to test this setup. #11 (comment)
