Surgical Robotics for Brain Surgery - Where Every Millimeter Counts.
About us
Tamar Robotics is developing an endoscopic surgical robotic system for bringing the benefits of minimally invasive robotic surgery to “small cavity” procedures such as in the brain, spine, head, and neck. The Tamar system has been designed from the outset for small cavity procedures. Based on innovative kinematics, the system enables highly accurate and safe robotic surgery in highly challenging workspaces where robotics currently cannot be used, offering improved clinical and economic benefits for millions of procedures annually worldwide. The Tamar system is currently being developed for use in neurosurgery where it will bring clinical and economic value in brain procedures such as pituitary, intraventricular, and skull-base tumor removal, as well as removal of gliomas, intracerebral hemorrhage, and other brain mass. The company was founded by Prof. Moshe Shoham, a world-renowned expert in medical robotics and founder of Mazor Robotics (acquired by Medtronic), following 5 years of research at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. The company is led by a top-tier team bringing extensive experience in the development of complex medical technologies.

Ever wondered why the Israel Medical Technology space is so innovative? A lot of it is driven by highly skilled engineers + a supportive government who give funding to startups. Funnily enough, this is the same combination that is commonly shared for France's thriving Surgical Robotics ecosystem. Noam Hassidov sat down with me on the latest episode of The Surgibots Podcast. Thank you to the SurgiBot Podcast and host Henry Norton of RW Search for hosting our CEO Noam Hassidov on the latest episode of the podcast. We look forward to sharing Noam's insights on the surgical robotics industry in general and thoughts on the current unmet needs and challenges involved in developing robotics for #neurosurgery. Also interesting is Noam's take on the Israeli medical device ecosystem. Give it a listen! #surgicalrobotics #roboticsurgery #neurosurgery #braintumor #israelinnovation

September is National Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month. In the United States there are an estimated 6 million people – 1 in 50 – who have an unruptured brain aneurysm. According to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation, 50% of ruptures will be fatal and almost all are treatable if detected early. Tamar Robotics applauds organizations that promote awareness of the signs, symptoms and risk factors enabling early detection, and looks forward to playing a major role in improving clinical outcomes for patients undergoing treatment for ruptured brain aneurysms. https://www.bafound.org/ #brainhealth #brainsurgery #neurosurgery #surgicalrobotics #roboticsurgery
