Your Role as a Director of Finance:

We are looking for an experienced Director of Finance, to oversee all financial aspects of the operational business and drive the financial strategy and planning for the Italian properties. The Director of Finance contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all strategic & operational financial tasks as well as maintaining the flow of financial information to the Group Director of Finance, the Executive Team and fellow Group Directors.

Main responsibilities:

As Director of Finance, your role is crucial in ensuring the financial health of the

organization.

Here are some key responsibilities:

• Pre-Opening Activities:
• Set up financial and legal systems and platforms.
• Manage the pre-opening budget and updates for stakeholders.
• Plan cash flow during the pre-opening phase.
• Establish Finance policies and processes in compliance with standards and
  
  

regulations.

• Train department heads on Finance policies and systems.
• Management:
• Lead and develop the local Finance team.
• Ensure proper team structure and capability.
• Create a departmental plan aligned with business goals.
• Drive efficiency and monitor output.
• Budgeting:
• Own annual business planning and monthly forecasting.
• Manage cash flow budget and forecasting.
• Participate in business unit meetings and budget sessions.
• Financial Analysis and Reporting:
• Oversee bookkeeping, including general ledger, accounts payable, receivable,
  
  

and payroll.

• Handle month-end closing and variance analysis.
• Provide consistent management reporting.
• Collaborate with People & Culture on payroll controls and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and tax requirements.
• Create additional analyses and reports as needed.
• IT & Systems:
• Efficiently utilize systems following best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement through technology utilization.
  
  

Qualifications & Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree or other qualification in finance management/business administration.
• At least 5 years’ experience within hospitality Finance, out of which 3 years in a manager or Director position;
• Knowledge of all management systems for all accounting functions including purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, cash and banking, nominal ledger, and stock;
• Solid knowledge of national/local tax and reporting regulations.
  
  

Skills/Abilities

• Excellent communication skills in Italian and English; both oral and written and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proven report writing skills.
• Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to set targets, motivate and inspire staff to achieve targets.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities under pressure and be self-motivating;
