📅 Today is World Youth Skills Day. At Randstad, we believe in the power of youth to inspire global change. We also recognize the importance of driving equity across labor markets so that all individuals can enjoy equal access to opportunities. That’s why it’s vital we provide young people with the skilling opportunities that can lead them to employment and improved skill sets. Here are just a few examples: In Belgium, Randstad Young Talents has been active in study-related side jobs and starter jobs since 2012. In 2023 we coached 1,000 students, created 850 study-related jobs and helped more than 300 young people find their first job. Since 2015, the Randstad Shaping Young Futures Program has helped young unemployed Australians develop their job seeking skills and connect them with organizations willing to invest in the talent force of the future. In Canada, the Partner For Youth Initiative brings together business, the Randstad Canada Charitable Foundation, and community partners to generate more equitable employment outcomes for youth. In 2023 we helped more than 1,000 underrepresented youth gain the necessary life and career skills they need to thrive. 🌐 And globally, in partnership with VSO we work to empower young people to attain sustainable work, which is often achieved through skills development programs and coaching. Every year, about 100 Randstad employees volunteer to support various projects that help young people develop market-relevant skills so they are ready for the labor market. Equipping young people with the skills they need to succeed in the labor market is more than just a doorway to employment, it’s about securing a safer, smarter and more prosperous future for all of us.

Our CEO Sander van 't Noordende had the pleasure of visiting Frankfurt for an inspiring night with Randstad Deutschland, organized by the PROUT AT WORK-Foundation and hosted by IKEA. Dinner Beyond Business brought leaders together to discuss the challenges faced by today’s LGBTQI+ talent. Sander was honoured to join PROUT AT WORK board member, Albert Kehrer on stage for a fireside chat where they explored equity in the workplace and allyship. Sander shared the progress we've made to improve inclusivity at work, but highlighted the areas where much more needs to be done. For more on this, please take a look through our recent Workmonitor Pulse findings: https://lnkd.in/ev656R5B While global Pride Month may finish at the end of June, it's imperative that we continue driving change all year round.

How can AI and equity intersect in the world of work? 🤖⚖️ Our 2024 Workmonitor research found that over half of talent expect AI to lead to career progression. However, according to new research, 80% of executives are not confident they can keep pace with training demands. Organizations that can overcome this mismatch have the chance to thrive in the face of unpredictability. We were delighted to contribute to this new research from the World Employment Confederation and FT Longitude. Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/epwpatYv
