We had a beautifully wrapped present this morning, and it’s not yet our birthday! 🎁 The exciting parcel we received, from the wonderful team Dayfold Group in particular Patrick Slavin, was our copies of a stunning business card we recently designed for Market Talent Ltd. We all downed tools Friday for the day and headed off for our annual Christmas Day Out, this year to Chichester. 🎄🎅🏻🎁 Starting with a trip to the ‘May the toys be with you’ Star Wars exhibition – a great reminisce for the older members of the team and no shortage of giggles and confused looks from the younger ones. Then off for lovely food at Bills, and we even ‘managed’ to make time for drinks and a few cocktails… oh and we shot a few rounds of pool. It was a great day out and good to have some fun with the team after a busy year, plus it’s put us all in the right Christmas mood for this week! We’re so pleased to announce that we have a new intern Annie Bethwaite who joins us from the University of Portsmouth. Annie is currently in her final year of uni and keen to get industry experience alongside her education. 📚 It’s a joy to have her in the studio helping us and in return we’re introducing her to our industry, our studio culture and lots of (too much) Star Wars chat! Annie said, ‘I’m really enjoying being here in the studio with the team, I’m excited to learn much more, I’m very grateful for the opportunity. We are all so proud of our youngest member of the team Bryony Rogers who was selected as part of the BBC Bitesize Careers Schools Tour last week. She spent the morning talking to three different years groups of students at a secondary school in Portsmouth. Bryony spoke of her career journey into Graphic Design, from school to University of Portsmouth and the work we do at 1721, she said “Talking to around 200 students per group was daunting at first, but once I started explaining my work and passion for design it was really exciting and, in the end, I hope I helped to inspire one or two!” #graphicdesign #designer #bbcbitesize #careers #schoolstour #design
