We are extremely proud to share that Frazer-Nash Consultancy's Greg Chance, PhD CEng MInstP and Chris Heaps were selected to represent Team GB Age Groups at the European Multisport Championships in Coimbra, Portugal in June this year. Greg and Chris competed in a sprint Aquathlon event, swimming 1km in the Mondego River followed by a 5km run, against athletes from all over Europe. Although they didn’t get into the medal places, they both had a fantastic time and Chris even set a personal best in the 5km run! Well done to Greg and Chris on their outstanding achievements!

This week, on 17th – 18th of July, Frazer-Nash Consultancy is exhibiting at the @mainspringuk Light Railway Conference 2024 in Leeds. Visit the Frazer-Nash team on our stand to find out more about how we support our clients in the rail sector, including: - Depot Modelling and Optimisation: Frazer-Nash has developed a depot modelling tool to help investigate depot layouts, maintenance schemes and resource requirements. The tool has been applied to more than 25 depots, delivering saving running into the tens of millions. It was shortlisted for The Engineer magazine’s Collaborate to Innovate (C2I) Awards. - Circular economy: We chair the Institute of Asset Management’s Circular Economy Knowledge Group and contributed to the white paper “How Rail Can Enable the Circular Economy”, which recommends that government uses a whole-systems approach to transport systems. - Sheffield Tram Train: The Sheffield Tram Train Pilot Scheme presented a unique set of challenges as the UK’s first low floor Tram Train service. Our expertise in CSM-RA compliant risk assessments was invaluable, enabling Network Rail to maintain their commissioning program. Frazer-Nash’s contributions ensured the project’s safety requirements were met, allowing for the successful introduction of the Tram Train service, enhancing connectivity, and setting a precedent for future rail projects. Carl Waring, Principal Consultant at Frazer-Nash Consultancy and Chair of the Circular Economy Knowledge Group for the The Institute of Asset Management (IAM), is presenting at the IAM Global Conference in London on 13 June. Carl will present a proposed Circular Economy Readiness Framework for Asset Management and provide feedback from the EPSRC funded workshop held in London where we tested the application of the framework with the UK Rail Sector. Carl is a leading researcher and advocate for this paradigm shift which he is now driving forward in the UK rail sector. This framework is designed to reduce investment costs, increase the exploitation of asset value, boost asset performance, ignite supply chain innovation and open opportunities for industrial investment. Carl comments: “Within an Asset Management context, the circular economy should be renamed the ‘asset performance economy’. This is where industries pivot from chasing short term profits through single-point sales to embracing long-term investment with recurring revenues. Value will no longer be measured on price alone. Value will be linked to what the assets enable or rather ‘outcomes’.” Find out more about the circular economy transition here: https://lnkd.in/eQyjnNbN
