Great to see this article in Startups Magazine about the initiative our UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme team just delivered for five British companies in the #quantumcomputing field. The UK delegation went to Quantum Korea 2024, where we arranged 35 meetings with #SouthKorean corporations to kick start commercial discussions. The UK companies were Wave Photonics (James Lee), Quantum Software Lab (Craig Skeldon), Cavero Quantum (James Trenholme), Element Six (Matthew Markham) and Oxford Instruments plc (Gayeon Jung), whose innovations attracted huge interest from the Korean corporations. If you'd like to be considered for initiatives such as this to help your business expand in Asia Pacific, you can find out more about the UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme and apply to join here: https://lnkd.in/ec6XcAwK https://lnkd.in/gaSwygEM

Bence Parti, Photonics Engineer at Wave Photonics, had the pleasure of recently attending the 9th ePIXfab - the European Silicon Photonics Alliance Silicon Photonics Summer School held at the University of Southampton and hosted by CORNERSTONE, which brought together top academics as well as industrial partners to explore the cutting-edge of what silicon photonics has to offer today, as well as in the near future. Event highlights include: * A presentation by Professor Wim Bogaerts on developing a PIC from idea to working product, which broke down the design process into several stages and explored different simulation tools available to designers *Talks from startup founders which provided varying perspectives on business and technology development *A talk by Professor Roel Baets which explored the future trends in silicon photonics At Wave Photonics, Bence works on component design and can apply these learnings to advance his work at the company.

If you're working with (quantum) photonic integrated circuits and need a turnkey solution for initial low-volume production, the QPICPAC packaging service might be what you're looking for. Developed through an Innovate UK project in collaboration with Wave Photonics , ALTER TECHNOLOGY TÜV NORD, CORNERSTONE, and the University of Bristol, the QPICPAC service offers designers an accessible turnkey packaging solution. This service also includes the option to specify Senko Advanced Components's CudoForm technology. Special thanks to Grahame Wood, Callum Littlejohns, Martin Cryan, Jon Pugh, James Lee, Jiangbo Zhu and our own Michael O'Farrell for their contributions. Learn more about Senko's CudoForm technology here: https://lnkd.in/gTC8-jTD Access the service directly from Wave Photonics' site here:https://lnkd.in/eXAPW6_U SENKO We Value Every Connection #PIC #QPIC #CudoForm #CopackagedOptics #Collaboration #MPC

I always get excited when quantum technology products get to market (spent time in a former job talking to people about ultra-cold atoms!) What’s interesting is that the team are built upon expertise from so many UK universities. I saw Cambridge, Bristol, Oxford, Exeter, Imperial, Cardiff … on the website. And also international expertise with team members having worked and studied in several countries. Wave Photonics is an illustration of how the UK can be open, collaborative, attract global investors and scientists, and manufacture groundbreaking products. So, I’ll end with a shout out to my current and hopefully future MP!
