Everyone has their own path. The best advice in finding a niche, your personal product market fit, if to try everything. Seriously. Serve every industry you have interest in, try to sell each angle, travel to multiple places and do the uncomfortable. When I entered video production, my goal for the first 5 years was not niche fit, it was volume. I said to myself, I will film something in every industry possible, love it or hate it. Then I can pick what I like in confidence. It’s provided me 10x life experiences, connections, and perspective that’s changed how we strategies and run our business today. I also feel connected to our customers because I’ve been there and done that. Try things, break things, have fun. It’ll pan out ok!
