Assigning tasks according to each volunteer’s ability and preference. I have realized that interest is a big driver in having tasks done. After this, training, supporting and counseling can propel these volunteers to greater heights. It is not rare that for the most the reward to volunteering is not as compelling and motivating as formal employment with incentives so the above comes in handy

Assign task to the volunteer on basis of their skills so that the work to be done smoothly but will also coordinate with the members if they are facing any difficulties in the assign task such that they can give their best output. As a lead i will also teach them new skills so that they won't get stuck on a single task and can be multi tasking as well.

It is very crucial that you sell the vision of your project to the volunteers and set clear goals so they can understand their tasks and what is expected of them in ensuring that those goals are accomplished. If volunteers get a full grasp of the aim of your project and understand the role they play, they’d be able to act accordingly.

Make sure that volunteers have all the resources they need to complete their tasks. This includes materials, tools, and access to information. Having everything at hand minimizes confusion and delays, allowing volunteers to focus on their work. If any resources are shared or require special training to use, provide clear instructions and a schedule to prevent conflicts and ensure smooth operation.

It is very important for the volunteer to know about the available resources and how they can use those resources to speed up the work. It will also help in increasing the quality of deliverables. It is also very important to make them aware about the usage of those resources, because unless they don't know when to use and how to use those resources, they will not be able to produce effective results.

Customize required timesheets. Include a few specified checkboxes and lines for each day. Include a note at the top of the form emphasizing the importance of make their entries daily. It literally takes only a minute or two, and the data derived from this practice is the most concise. Ask all project staff to provide a brief note of their day's focus on the project, including the times they were unavailable, and submit them weekly. These forms, reviewed weekly, help to ensure the entire project group is inline, shows areas that need attention, reduces Micro-Mgt., and so much more. Follow-up also needs to be logged. Crunching this data helps in so many ways. Review it when repeating or planning the next project. AND...Funders love it!
