📣 SMALL BUSINESS WEEK SHOUT-OUT📣 "My shout-out has to go to Recreo Coffee & Roasterie! I owe my happiest, most productive mornings to this family-owned coffee shop located right here in City Hall (and in West Roxbury). And knowing that 1/3 of their profits go towards funding education for their workers' families makes every cup taste even better. Cheers to you!" -Erin Santhouse, Office of Human Resources Learn more about Small Business Week at boston.gov/small-business, and shout out your favorite local business in the comments!

📣 SMALL BUSINESS WEEK SHOUT-OUT📣 "Bon Me local food trucks and restaurants are a favorite of mine for delicious Vietnamese-inspired food. Bon Me is actually the reason I got into City government. I used to go to the food truck all the time. When I discovered that then-City Councilor Michelle Wu had spearheaded the City's food truck initiative as a Mayor's Office fellow, which played a big role in the birth of Bon Me, I was so excited that I applied for an internship in her office. The rest was history!" -Gaby Germanos, Finance Cabinet Learn more about Small Business Week at boston.gov/small-business, and shout out your favorite local business in the comments! #SmallBusinessSpotlight #SupportLocal #BostonBusiness #BonMe #FavoriteLocalSpot #EmployeeFavorites #CityGovernmentJourney

🎉 CHEERS TO OUR 2024 TAX PREPARATION VOLUNTEERS! 🎉 The Boston Tax Help Coalition (BTHC) just wrapped up another successful tax season, and we couldn’t have done it without our AMAZING volunteers! For over 22 years, BTHC has been offering free tax prep and filing services to low to moderate-income Boston residents. This year, nearly 200 dedicated volunteers helped close to 11,000 taxpayers, returning a whopping $17 million to Boston’s community! 💰 Our volunteers undergo a free, intensive two-day weekend training to become IRS Tax Certified, enabling them to serve at one of 30+ tax sites across Boston's neighborhoods. Each volunteer commits to at least 4 hours a week from late January through mid-April, and their dedication is truly inspiring. P.S. Although the 2024 tax deadline has passed, BTHC is still offering free in-person and virtual tax prep services.
