📸✨ What an incredible and historic couple of days in Birmingham! From June 19-20, we brought together Birmingham City Schools students, community partners, and corporate partners to commemorate Juneteenth and honor Alabama’s rich history, culminating in the historic Major League Baseball (MLB) tribute game, celebrating the Negro Leagues, at Rickwood Field. We were privileged to host a special luncheon featuring a fireside chat with the esteemed Roy S. Johnson and baseball legend Reggie Jackson, as well as conversation with Roy Wood Jr., Dr. Layton Revel, Gerald Watkins, Cornell Wesley and Ralph Williams Jr. Their insights and stories inspired all in attendance, including students from Ramsay High School and Wenonah High School. Special thanks to our partners with the City of Birmingham Mayor's Office and Prosper! We are immensely proud of Alabama's efforts to honor this remarkable history and grateful to have witnessed such a momentous occasion. Thank you to everyone who contributed to and participated in these meaningful events. #Birmingham #RickwoodField #MLB #Juneteenth #NegroLeagues #ReggieJackson #RoyWoodJr #Inspiration #Education #AlabamaProud
