In my 16 weeks as Project Manager at Millennium Park Foundation reopening Grainger Plaza and Cloud Gate has been our biggest goal. I'm incredibly proud to have been part of this project and to work with such a talented team. A huge thank you to the Chicago Department of Fleet and Facility Management (2FM), Paul Borg Construction Company, Epstein Architecture, Engineering and Construction, and Architectural Cast Stone for their hard work. Come and snap a #selfie with Cloud Gate! 📸 #Teamwork #MillenniumPark #CloudGate #TheBean #CityofChicago #MillenniumParkFoundation
NOW OPEN! We are happy to share that Grainger Plaza, the area surrounding Cloud Gate (aka “The Bean”) in Millennium Park, has completed construction and is now open to the public. Visitors can once again have full access to Chicago’s iconic Cloud Gate by Anish Kapoor. Come back and get your #selfie! The construction project on Grainger Plaza, led by the Chicago Department of Fleet and Facility Management (2FM), began in August 2023 and included a comprehensive rebuild of the Plaza podium, including new stairs, accessible ramps, paver replacement, a waterproofing system and accessibility upgrades to Grainger Plaza. Additional landscaping improvements to the Plaza will be completed in the coming weeks and do not impact access to Cloud Gate. This necessary maintenance has ensured the 20-year-old Park’s appearance, visitor experience, and position as the #1 attraction in the Midwest. “Our team applauds 2FM, the Millennium Park Foundation, and everyone involved in the reopening of this iconic public sculpture that has become the symbol of Chicago across the U.S. and around the world,” shared DCASE Commissioner Clinée Hedspeth. Epstein and the Epstein Community Foundation are proud to be part of Rebuilding Together for another year! #NationalRebuildingDay
ECF's volunteers spent the day providing much needed home improvements for Chicago residents in need through Rebuilding Together! Our team tackled installing new ADA features including new handrails, updating interior paint, minor electrical upgrades, downspout extensions, and new safety features including new locks. It's always an honor to roll up our sleeves and give back the community, and this year's #NationalRebuildingDay was no exception. A huge thank you to our volunteers for being part of an impactful project!

The City of Hickory in North Carolina embarked on a project to create an accessible, attractive and responsibly-constructed riverwalk that runs along Lake Hickory between the existing Rotary-Geitner Park and the proposed Old Lenoir Road roadside trail connection. Epstein served as a subconsultant to Design Workshop, a national landscape architecture firm, to provide structural engineering services as part of the team. The City celebrated the grand opening of the riverwalk on April 4th with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The riverwalk is intended to spur private investment, create economic development and become an iconic attraction for the City, representing Hickory’s commitment to compelling civic infrastructure and its ability to create an image and quality of life that will be attractive to current and future citizens, visitors, employers and investors. https://lnkd.in/gCsTrHTd
