This week’s #staffspotlight features Ella Brewer! Ella has been working as an Architectural Intern for the past year and has now transitioned to working full-time after she graduated from the University of Cincinnati this past April! We are so excited to have her on the Etica Group team full-time! Hear more from Ella below: Department: Architecture Years of Experience: 1 Year Length at Etica Group: 1 Year What types of projects do you work on? I’ve worked on an assortment of projects since I started as an intern. Currently, I am primarily working on our larger scale commercial projects. I’ve also worked on a church, some smaller municipal projects, and a few things for the Building Envelope team. The variety of work is perfect for me as I have something new to work on pretty frequently. What do you enjoy most about your job? My favorite part of my job is the level of critical thinking that develops problem solving skills. I enjoy the challenge of the work and being part of a team who is willing to work with me through the problems. This helps make the process more seamless and the solutions more unique. Also, I can’t go without saying, the people here make coming to work easy! What has surprised you about working at Etica Group? I was surprised about the level of interest the management team has in my success. The leadership at Etica Group knows when their employees thrive, so does the company. I am excited to come to the office due to the work the leadership team and employees have put in to make the environment comfortable, intentional, and accessible. #AceIt #Community #Talent

Today’s #staffspotlight features Philippe Hain! Philippe enjoys the variation in projects, the mix of collaboration and teamwork amongst the disciplines, and getting to interact with each department at Etica Group. Hear more from Philippe below: Department: Architecture Years of Experience: 15 Years Length at Etica Group: 6 Months How many projects are you typically working on at once? / What’s the lifecycle of your typical projects? I am typically working on about 5 projects at once. The lifecycles can range anywhere from 1 or 2 years and beyond. Previously, most of my time was wrapped up in water treatment facilities, but recently that focus has shifted to the transportation sector -- aviation, to be more precise. What excites you about the work you do? It’s always different! I enjoy the variance in projects because it keeps me intrigued and wanting more. Some projects aren’t necessarily glamorous, but there are never two exactly alike. You’ll have clients who like traditional design and clients who want something completely out of the box; with constraints like budget, time, etc., finding a middle ground is the fuel that keeps us going. Our industry is also always evolving, things are always changing, and technology is shining a new light on how we communicate and present our ideas; it’s a very exciting time! What has surprised you about working at Etica Group? I feel like I’ve been here a lot longer than 6 months. It really does feel like a family here at Etica Group! There is a good mix of collaboration and teamwork amongst the disciplines, and you get to interact with other departments every day, expressing yourself freely. There is also a casual, friendly flexibility that exists in the office environment, but at the same time some of the most impressive work ethic I’ve ever seen. I’ve already learned a lot and am excited about the future here! #AceIt #Community #Talent

Today’s #staffspotlight features Cory Conner. Cory has 28 years of experience in the survey field and really enjoys the work he does and the people he works with! Hear more from Cory below: Role: Project Surveyor Department: Survey Years of Experience: 28 Years Length at Etica Group: 7 Years What types of projects do you work on? I mainly work on topographic and location control route surveys. I have a hand in 99% of the survey projects at Etica Group. Currently, we have at least 10 ongoing projects. What excites you about the work you do? Every project is different. In my younger days, I really enjoyed seeing all different parts of the state and working in several different cities and counties. I don’t get out much these days, so learning new skills and contributing to the group is what keeps me coming back. How would you describe the culture? The culture is perfect. We have a great group with amazing camaraderie. I feel like I am part of a team and not just answering to someone in charge. #AceIt #Community #Talent
