How about that #IronMan race? Many people volunteered to help make the event possible. Thank you all for stepping up for the community! On Sunday, our surgery department volunteered to help and celebrated with a luau - they were decked out in leis and grass skirts. There were 19 people, including some CSTs, nurses, assists and doctors at biker station one. "I was beyond impressed how everyone worked so fast and with such happiness to make everything perfect for our bikers," explained Nicole from the surgery department. For about four hours, they chanted and cheered and clapped and rooted bikers on while handing out beverages and snacks. For the 1,400 bikers, it was a real treat. Then, on Monday, they won "Most Enthusiastic Group" at the Iron Man volunteer banquet. "We were very very proud to represent the Firelands' surgery department!" explained Nicole. "We always enjoy and go above and beyond to help and encourage others. It just happened to be bikers in this instance."
