Join us July 25 for our next Innovation Builders webinar. Register here: https://lnkd.in/gaprwHAa As the world embraces net-zero energy solutions during the energy transition, we encounter novel processes. Some of these processes push even the highest alloy materials to their limits. Meanwhile, familiar materials can be applied to other new energy solutions, but their limitations under specific conditions must be thoroughly understood. Join Fluor Fellow Jan-Willem Rensman as he delves into perceived issues and practical engineering approaches for utilizing carbon steels in two critical areas: Liquefied CO2 Applications: Explore the unique challenges and opportunities when employing carbon steels in handling liquefied CO2, a crucial component of sustainable energy systems. Hydrogen Applications: Understand the implications of using carbon steels in hydrogen-related processes, considering safety, corrosion and performance factors. #BuildingABetterWorld #InnovationBuilders #Webinar #EnergyTransition

Reminder! Join us July 18 for our next Innovation Builders webinar. Register here: https://lnkd.in/exxPvbmn Post-combustion carbon capture is a primary pathway to decarbonizing existing industrial assets and a key technology in supporting global carbon emission reduction targets. Subject to the application, post-combustion carbon capture may be the most technically feasible and economical means of reducing the carbon intensity of existing industrial assets. Post-combustion carbon capture presents technical challenges, including low CO2 partial pressure, the presence of oxygen and other flue gas contaminants, low flue gas pressures, and site allocation constraints affecting the carbon capture plant layout. The design must also account for the significant heating, cooling and power utility requirements, all of which directly affect project capital and operating costs. In this webinar, Matthew Gutscher will present a holistic approach to carbon capture plant assessment and design, with specific focus on carbon capture process demand on utility system requirements and strategies to optimize facility integration. #BuildingABetterWorld #InnovationBuilders #Webinar #CarbonCapture
