🌟 A huge thank you to Connie Britton and Claire Babineaux-Fontenot for their inspiring participation in Day 4's Destination Tomorrow talk at the summit! 🌟 Their heartfelt stories and dedication to Feeding America's mission have shed light on the critical issue of hunger in the United States. As we tackle the challenges of climate change, it’s vital to remember the interconnectedness of our environment, food security, and community well-being. Storytelling is a powerful tool in driving change, and Connie and Claire’s voices remind us of the urgent need to support our neighbors facing food insecurity. We can all take a step forward and contribute to Feeding America's mission to ensure no one goes hungry. Global Talent Development & Inclusion Intern, NBCUniversal | Academy Gold Rising | EBF Fellow | HRTS Fellow

I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Academy Gold Rising 2024 at Academy Gold! Today I found out that 38,000 people applied to intern at NBCUniversal, and 400 of us made it. Two weeks ago today, I found out that almost 8,000 people applied to be part of Academy Gold, and 86 of us made it. There are not the right words to describe the incredible feeling of thankfulness I feel every morning when I step on the universal lot, followed by inspiring panels at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Starting off strong, orientation included tours of The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros. Discovery, and the Margaret Herrick Library. This evening, the goldies got to attend Hollywood Climate Summit, and we are only two weeks in! Every day, I’m reminded that we are the next generation of filmmakers. This generation will pave the way for others to follow. I plan to instill the importance of representation, authenticity, and dedication. There are many people to thank for this. People who have guided me along the way and others who had a coffee chat with me. Your words don’t go unnoticed, and it is often that I reflect on advice or guidance someone has gifted me. That is why I’m here. The power of words and how they can change someone’s life. They sure have changed mine. Thank you, NBCUniversal early careers team, for believing in me. Thank you, Ready To Succeed, for building my career development these past few years. Thank you, Emma Bowen Foundation, for instilling the importance of representation in the entertainment industry. Thank you, K. Nicole Mills, for nominating me for this additional experience. Thank you, Joanna Belloso, PHR for getting all 86 of us onboarded and ready to become leaders who empower, uplift, and inspire. To the Gold Rising staff, my heart is now that of gold. 🌟 #academygold #goldrising

When working in climate, sustainability, activism, and/or creative industries and spaces, there is nothing more powerful than friendship and community. The connections (both familiar and new) I've made while at the Hollywood Climate Summit this week were nothing short of passion affirming, and I just want to say a little thank you to everyone I got to meet, talk to, hug, and spend time with this week. Way too many people to @, but you all know who you are. 💖 (Gonna get sappy on main here, you've been warned!) I've only been living in Los Angeles for a little over two years, and the people I've had the opportunity to surround myself with are just so incredible and welcoming and humbling. I've learned so much in these two years, and I've become a better, more confident person because of the community, achievements, and mistakes I've made while being here. I've learned to focus on and celebrate others and their achievements as much as I do with my own, and I am more comfortable in saying the wrong things and fixing them, rather than trying to stay in the shadows and only show a formulaic version of myself. I've also learned that it's okay to not know how anything is going to work out - you can do something impactful and important without stressing over the journey of getting there. If I can bestow anything for you to take away from this post, which is honestly just me saying 'wow, I'm so grateful' at this point, it's that I hope everyone in my network is able to find a place in their world where they feel how I feel this morning. If you're not there yet, go out there and find it. ✨
