When we announced the launch of GuardDog this past October, we set out to invest in founders building guardrails in the gaming and sports betting space, where regulation has just not moved quickly enough. We were hyper-focused on finding innovators with the grit and tenacity to transform the landscape of responsible gaming in the US. Jonathan Aiwazian and idPair are doing exactly that, and we’re incredibly proud to announce that idPair is our very first investment out of the GuardDog fund. idPair is a platform that creates a centralized view, for regulators, of an individual’s play and gambling activity across all applications and operators in a jurisdiction, providing for universal responsible gaming limits. Given that current data suggests that 76% of gamblers are using more than one operator for their gambling, we have firm conviction that idPair is not only a beneficial limiting tool, but a market necessity. We're greatly looking forward to working alongside Eberg Capital to bring real consumer protections to fruition. Today Underdog Fantasy's new Responsible Gaming fund, GuardDog, announced its first investment into a great Eberg Capital portfolio company called idPair. My father, mentor, and boss Roger Ehrenberg laid out why this opportunity is so tremendous and timely in his blog post below. We introduced Aviv Lazar to idPair CEO Jonathan Aiwazian back in October at G2E in Las Vegas and they both recognized the tremendous opportunity to be at the forefront of proactively addressing problem gambling behavior and shaping legislation to optimize for comprehensive consumer protection without damaging or inhibiting innovations around user experience. As an industry, we want to be able to continue to push the boundaries around creating the most fun, engaging, diverse set of gaming products that can capture the attention of the most diverse base of sports fans possible, but in order to do this we need to put the proper guardrails in place to ensure that fans are playing within the bounds of what is affordable for them.
