Our industry must continue innovating relentlessly, and invest intelligently, in order to meet the climate crisis head-on. That’s why today, I’m thrilled to announce the close of LevelTen’s $65 million Series D funding round, which included participation from many of our closest collaborators, and preeminent leaders in the sustainability space. LevelTen Energy has always focused on enabling a faster energy transition. In the last eight years, we’ve assembled the world’s largest community for clean energy transactions, and have developed new ways to dramatically accelerate clean energy deals. But, as our warming world continues to remind us, our work is not nearly done. This capital will allow us to not only expand our current offerings, but also develop an array of new marketplaces and tools, in new geographies, that will help enable the next phase in the shift to a clean energy economy. Our success so far has continued to reinforce the essential role a robust renewables community plays in creating a brighter future. We continue to be humbled by — and grateful for — the collaborative efforts of the entire LevelTen Energy network of clean energy developers, buyers, and advisors, as well as the stellar team here at LevelTen itself. And of course, my sincere gratitude goes out to our Series D investors: The financing, which includes both new growth capital and the conversion of notes, was led by B Capital - a global multi-stage investment firm - with participation from Aster Venture Capital, Constellation, Equinor Ventures, Google, ICE., Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund, NGP, Prelude Ventures, and ZOMA Capital, among others. Your belief in our mission continues to be a driving force behind the real impacts LevelTen continues to contribute in the fight against climate change. I invite you to read my latest blog to learn more about all that’s to come here at LevelTen. If you’re a renewable energy developer, buyer, advisor, or investor who is not yet part of the LevelTen community, please know we’d love nothing more than for you to join us on our mission to build a better world.

Today, LevelTen Energy is celebrating the close of a $65 million Series D funding round led by B Capital ! Thank you to our Series D investors, and all the investors who preceded them, for their support: Aster Capital, Constellation, Google, ICE, Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund, NGP, Prelude Ventures, and ZOMALAB, among others. “Society has made strong progress in tackling climate change — but it’s still not enough,” said LevelTen Energy CEO Bryce Smith. “The next phase of the transition to a carbon-free economy will require new marketplaces, new sources of market intelligence, faster access to capital, and significant investments in emerging technologies. With this renewed financial support from our investors, LevelTen will build on our past success, and provide new solutions to the energy transition’s most pressing challenges.” This funding will support continued growth of the LevelTen Platform and finance the company’s expansion into new markets, including granular certificates and clean hydrogen, to accelerate carbon-free energy project deployment. Thanks to all of you — the LevelTen Network — for helping us achieve this milestone. We couldn’t do it without you! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gj-xd__V #renewableenergy #cleanenergy #funding

Last week LevelTen kicked off the 2024 Energy Scholars program, hosting a group of 16 immensely talented undergraduate students who have an interest in entering the clean energy industry. At LevelTen, they’ll get a deep dive into utility-scale clean energy project development, and learn how corporate sustainability teams use power purchase agreements, granular certificates, and tax credits to reach their goals. Throughout the 8-week program, they’ll also learn from several of our partners and sponsors, and they’ll gain real-world work experience through practical group projects. If you are in the clean energy industry or corporate sustainability, and will have early-career positions open soon, be sure to follow these students; they’ll be equipped with the knowledge they need to dive right in after graduation! Thank you to the sponsors who make this program possible: Clearway Energy Group, Energy GPS LLC, Energy and Environmental Economics, Inc., Google, GridStor, Microsoft, Portland General Electric, SB Energy and University of Washington. Learn more about the program and this year’s Scholars on the LevelTen blog: https://lnkd.in/gVqM4ju2 And stay tuned for spotlights on each of our Scholars! #futureofenergy #renewableenergy #greenjobs

CEBA welcomes Bryce Smith of LevelTen Energy to our board of directors. We’re glad to have him join this important group which supports CEBA in our mission of customer-driven clean energy for all.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer at LevelTen Energy

It’s an honor to have been elected to the Clean Energy Buyers Association (CEBA) Board of Directors. CEBA’s mission deeply resonates with me, and its history parallels my personal career path, as I’ve long-worked to remove the obstacles that impede clean energy procurement. CEBA aims to cultivate a global community of energy customers that drive clean energy adoption, and its impact is undeniable — in 2023, CEBA members were involved in 72% of all clean energy deals in North America. As a board member I’ll represent CEBA’s service provider members, which include energy and sustainability consultancies, software and data providers, financial services companies, and other organizations advancing the energy transition. Many of CEBA’s service provider members are already part of the LevelTen ecosystem, so I hope I can bring some insight into their evolving needs. I’d like to thank Rich Powell and the entire CEBA leadership team for bringing their passion and expertise to the cause, as well as former CEOs Kevin Hagen and Miranda Ballentine, whose immense contributions helped the CEBA become the force it is today. At the first CEBA meeting in 2016, when BSR, RMI, World Resources Institute and World Wildlife Fund formed an alliance with 60 participating companies, the leadership proposed a ten-year corporate procurement target of 60 GW. At the time, that target seemed outlandish. Incredibly, Member companies exceeded that ambitious goal. We should have all the confidence in the world that, working together, we can tackle the next set of difficult climate challenges. I look forward to working with the entire CEBA community to push the industry forward, tackling important new areas like granular procurement (24/7 carbon-free energy and emissions-first procurement), and working to bring vital infrastructure policy to fruition.
